May I ask how much you are spending on a CPU?
-
You can get away for under $500
$75 XP 2500
$90-130 for 512MB memory
$70-100 nforce2 mobo
$99 graphics card
$60 case with 350W PS
Use your floppy,cd-rom,keyboard/mouse, monitor from the current computer

You are asking a lot to get a gaming vid card for $100. I would suggest shaving a little off your CPU budget and putting in the vid card. Also make sure you have at leat 512mb RAM.

9600 is about the same as a Ti4200 but is DX9 compatible and also excels at AA and AF.....While dated it will still run any game currently on the market albeit at lower resolutions. It will easily run AH2. The cost difference in AMD XP's is very slight. Where as the cost difference of graphics cards is a good bit more.

Gigabyte/ATI 9600XT $154

Total=$397 including shipping
If your case has at least a 300W power supply you could get away with it, if not a case with a 350W PS will run at most $60, if you want new cdrw drives add another $40 or so for a very nice under $500 system

If ya got about 400 bucks I'd recommend the Radeon X800. Just ordered a system myself with it installed, looks to be an awesome card! Make sure you have a processor speed of 3.2 or higher or you wont get full capabilities out of it. GL on your search.
Accessmirco.com is a good place to start
Newegg.com is very good site too
tomshardware.com is a good place to learn about different products, and has reviews on them, very good source of info.

I'm going to post this video card because I believe the all-in-wonder features make the card a great deal.
