There are so many great people in this game, who say neat, funny, and interesting stuff, and those who throw a "salute" on the open channel (not to mention the many times quotes from The Holy Grail flood channel 1 (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)).  Unfortunately, Having to squelch the open channel due to a few bananas removes this aspect of the game.  Having a "month long squelch list", as opposed to the "permanent" squelch list could help alleviate this problem.  The month long squelch, allows a second chance for those who've been squelched.

Instead of squelching an entire channel, just squelch the offending players (.squelch XXXX).  When you're ready to give them a second chance, use the unsquelch command (.unsquelch XXXX).

BTW, people who quote the Holy Grail deserve to squelched. No really. I've seen the film a thousand times and having it quoted to me kina detracts from the whole thing.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

I've gotten so sick of certain people, that I actually have them programed into my gamecommander.  All I do is say "squelch dumb26" for example (for demonstration purposes only, and relationship to a real pain in the arse who cant control his pre-pubecent urges must be purely coincidental) ...and poofles he is gone.  So far I have about 8 people on the list.  I wish HT would impliment a more perminent squelch.  You should see your squelch list on logging on so you can make adjustments as needed.
