the 4th of july is really my favorite holliday....especially if you live in one of those redneck states that has yet to ban fireworks.

Its not only legal but encouraged to spend $400 between BBQ supplies....beer.....and boom booms.  What fun nights!

We work harder than anyone else.  We give everyone a chance. We believe in ourselfs.  But more important, we pull the World's 'Bacon out of the fire' about every twenty years at great cost.

America offers a tremendous amount of freedom and opportunities. No system is perfect, but the United States with its continually tested governmental checks and balances not only tolerates but appreciates an extremely wide range of cultures and beliefs.

I think you would like it here Nilsen.  You planning a visit or thinking about moving to the US?

Are you looking for a redneck girlfriend?  Can't say I'd be able to fix you up, but if you moved here and got yourself a redneck girlfriend, you'd like it too.

:D

It's allowed me and my parents and brothers to live free, think what we want, watch Harry Potter and still be considerd christian.. And allowed us to be homeschooled.

It's also my home country, nothing can describe the loyalty and patriotism I have for Old Glory, and the USA.

Americans.

Most i have met in person (im not talking about AH here :D)  are nice, friendly, and generous people.  Much more so than your average Brit.

Sometimes when you first meet them they seem rude and obnoxious.  But if you actually get talking to them 99% i have met are really nice people.

there is allot of reasons, but here a few:

  • among my favourites are your advances in space exploration, like landing on the moon and returning, or the Hubble space telescope
  • your R&D into medical advancement
  • brilliant technologies like the building of the Golden Gate or Verrazano bridges, the undertaking of the biggest building project since the time of the great pyramids: the World Trade Center Buildings and a fantastic system of interstate freeways
  • Harley Davidson
  • Chicago's waterfront and parks system
  • the fine dining in San Fransico and the excitement of NYC night-life
  • California blonds :D
  • and the best of all for me: visiting my relatives in Livonia, Mi.

For me, it would have to be the wide open spaces of the American midwest. There's nothing like it. Somehow, it makes one one just feel free and clear-minded.

The people obviously.  A country is it's people not it's geography or it's politics.

I was in America twice for six weeks at a time not as a tourist but training or working with Americans.  I have to say I never had a negative moment from any of the people I met there. I was always met by genuine openess and hospitality.  That I have to say is remarkable.

What I also love about it is the sense that you can achieve anything you want to do if you really want it. There is a part of America for anyone.

I love the flying there too. It's a fantastic way of seeing America.  Renting a plane is easy

Later this year I hope to tour the west coast. California and maybe a certain town in Nevada by air and on the ground.

The freedom/ability to do the things you like to do.

Take a simple thing like hunting pheasant. In many, many places this is a sport almost exclusively for the truly rich.

Here, it's pretty much "everyman's" sport; there's access to millions of acres of public land for the minimal price of a hunting license.

Excellent trout fishing is pretty much the same situation.

Flying? Here it's relatively cheap and (while my fellow US pilots won't agree) only lightly restricted. Lots of airspace to roam and licensing isn't really a problem if you can walk and chew gum.

Lots of things that way here and I enjoy those opportunities.
