I've grown pretty partial to it lately. Nice flavor, filling. A buddy of mine told me most Germans despise it. Anyone over there dispute this?
-
It sucks! Yuk! It's like Fosters to Australians... yuk!
-
That's about what I thought :rofl
-
Mmmmm Wartsteiner! love it......too much of it in fact.....hic...
-
If u like Warsteiner go get urself a bottle of BECK's. Thats even better. I swear.

Becks has never been a favorite. Warsteiner is pretty good. The 3 Liter keg is great!

There are nicer German beers. I like Krombacher.
-
Ouch! < shivers>. I prefer Radeburger.

Last time I was in Frankfurt, we had some of that cloudy beer. I didn't like that at all. Did many of the bars in Saxhausen (spelling?)
-
The only good thing about Warsteiner is that it is the cheapest German beer available in the US. At one time a local beer store was selling it for $25 for a case of .5 liter (16oz) bottles, plus they threw in two free Warsteiner glasses. That's cheaper than most US beers. And slightly better.

Wheat? (weizen?) I can't bring myself to drink that stuff. Do the Germans put lemon in it?
The only German beer I really liked was Spaten (and their Oktoberfest.) Tasty.

Always wondered about that.
What beer is the big Fav with the folks down under?
-
I like Becks, the dark in particular.
But I prefer heavier beers. Becks, Coors Extra Gold, And a half and half mix of Guiness Harp & Stout.
these light Beers although I'll drink em if there isnt anything else all lack any real flavor and taste like soda water to me.
Worst tasting american beers for me are Any type of Budweiser
Just plain nasty. Almost like someone had drank it already.
And Miller which as far as Im concerned is nothing more then recycled cat piss.
But athe alltime worst tasting beer I've ever had was something callled "Blatz"
Now THAT stuff is outright gross tasting

Same here (bout austrailian beer) whats the best down there?

Depends which part of Aus, but the biggest seam to be Toohey's New, Victoria Bitter (VB), Carlton Draught and XXXX (four-x).

Redback was my favorite of all time while I could get it. (it was fumdonunda) After talking about it one night I decided to look it up on the net and found it had gone under(question: if your down unda and your business fails, where do ya go?) I read that someone had been try to buy the brewery or somesuch and restart it.
Bass is now one of my favorites.

Carlton Draught (on tap :D) for me....VB's a fav, but as Pei said beers in Aus are usually fairly territorial....ie. XXXX in Queensland, Toohey's new in NSW etc..

Well Warsteiner is the only beer other than Shiner Bock to grace my semi cool beer fridge. A couple of months ago when I was in Munich I sampled dozens of local and German brews and like Spaten as much as Warsteiner.
