It's Reagan, not to be confused with the former Secretary of the Treasury during Reagan's presidency, Donald Regan.
But anyhow. Reagan was good as far as Britain was concerned, as he adored our PM, Margaret Thatcher. They were close friends, a friendship which was an an important force for strengthening Anglo-American relations under the shadow of the Cold War, and nuclear proliferation.
The Reagan-Thatcher years of the 1980s. What glorious days they were. :)

He must have had the patience of a saint to do business with that dried up old haridan. Apart from the Iran Contra affair he seemed quite decent and will definitely be remembered as an 80's icon. Shame Alzheimer's affected him so much in his final years.
I'm patiently waiting for the day that Maggie croaks it. Plenty of celebrating to be had there.

"And whatever else history may say about me when I'm gone, I hope it will record that I appealed to your best hopes, not your worst fears, to your confidence rather than your doubts. My dream is that you will travel the road ahead with liberty's lamp guiding your steps and opportunity's arm steadying your way.
My fondest hope for each one of you -- and especially for the young people here -- is that you will love your country, not for her power or wealth, but for her selflessness and her idealism. May each of you have the heart to conceive, the understanding to direct, and the hand to execute works that will make the world a little better for your having been here.
May all of you as Americans never forget your heroic origins, never fail to seek divine guidance, and never lose your natural, God-given optimism."
---Ronald Reagan, 1994

President Reagan.:(
We're all better-off because of the way he lived his life, and the flame of Hope has certainly dimmed a little with his passing.
Just mho.
