Buying a new computer right now and got em both down to about the same price. Which would you guys go with?
-
Depends, if I can have it...
-
Seriously I am 1 click away from buying either and need opinions hehe.
-
I don't know anything about either..
Umm, Alienware looks nice, and I don't know anything about ABT..
But, do you get more with the ABT cause I know alienwares cost more because of their cases and etc.
-
well...if they both have the same hardware inside just go with the alienware since there cute and fund...
-
I'm a bear I'm cute and fund!
? How do you do that bear again?
-
i agree, if they both got the same specs, Alienware comps look nice!
-
Buy the components, let me build it..........you are paying a good $200-300 for a name.
-
I've had an alienware for close to 2 years now. I haven't had one single problem with it.
MiniD
-
Yah think im goin with alienware. Hows your setup MiniD? Hows the alienware rigs run gamewise?
-
Methinks Alienware makes computers for ricers...
On the + side they seem to be reliable. But I prefer to spend money on the vid card instead.
Edit: I just checked the site...I must admit that they look REALLY cool (I must have the ricer gene...) BUT:
The Aurora is priced at 1,582.00$
I plan to build this machine begin july:
AMD 64 3200+
Asus K8V DeLuxe
1 GB RAM DDR 400 MHz
Maxtor 120GB 7200rpm 8 MB Cache
LG Cheapo DVD-ROM + Sony DVD-RW Multi-format dual layer W00t! (I'll grab a plextor if I can)
ABit Radeon 9600 XT VIO 256MB (I can't find a decent 128MB without having to buy online)
ACER flatscreen 17"
Butt-ugly AOpen case with 300W PS
Logitech Wireless K-Board & optical mouse
Windows XP Home
for 1,797.50 €
It won't be much to look at but... who cares?

Alienware because I went to highschool with the owners and my son in law works there. Otherwise it would be a toss up. great game machine BTW.

closer to $500.00 but they back up the product with a no ? warranty. either company will do that.

I'd be impressed if you managed to get the same hardware at the same price from both vendors.
If you have, however, go with Alienware. Their service & support are among the best in the business, next to Voodoo. It wouldn't hurt to check out a few online reviews, either. Try this (http://reviews.cnet.com/Desktops/2001-3118_7-0.html?tag=cnetfd.glnav).
