http://www.museumofflight.org/collections/champlinindex.html
But I dont see the FW 190 D 13 listed, nore the N1K2-J they had what became of them I wounder, does anyone know?

Brady,
Some privately owned pieces didn't get moved there. I have no idea where they went.
Champlin did move, sadly. I hope it gets the recognition it deserves in Seatle. I saw it a few times here in AZ. but they didn't get the crowd where they were.

I see, anyone know what became of the George and the D 13?
I would realy like to see these planes, I hvae been to museums on both coasts and sean some great and very rare planes but I have yet to see either of these.
-
Yes, been there a few times and sad to see it leaving Arizona. Hopefully it will be cherished in it's new home.
-
Well the George was aparently the Smithsonians, so it may well be headed for the New Museum thier opening to hose the colection from the Paul E Garber Facility.
-
Very bummed that it moved. Got to see it 2 years ago, right before they started packing.
-
Well it is real close to home now, only a 3 hour drive, the down side is the two planes I wanted to see most are absent from the colection it looks like.

There is a Fw190D13 at the museum of flight, I am assuming it is the same aircraft.
I don't know about the niki.

LOL wtf is a "Fighet" is it like a Midget? :D

IIRC, Champlin's D9 has the wrong wings on it. That D9 and a Ta 152 were crated and shipped over from Germany. After testing they were crated up again. The Ta went to the Smithsonian and the D9 ended up with Champlin. However, they mixed the wings up. So, the D9 has the Ta's wings and vice versa. Champlin tried for years to get the Smithsonian to switch the wings back but they never would. Probably due to red tape.

Not Ta152.
The wings were switched between this D13 and the Air Force Museums D9. They have since been swapped and it's all ok now.
But I'm convinced that D13 landing gear is too short.
-
It seemed really short to me as well. The clearance for the prop in the three point stance is less than a foot (estimated). If the airplane were to roll on its main wheels, the prop would clear the ground by mere inches.

I saw a George at the Smithsonian in Dulles...
I'm not sure if it's the same one though. Let me dig through my pictures when I get home.

Excelent, then I will have to plane a day trip to Seatle to see the D13:)
Their are I beelave 3 or 4 N1K2's in the States, though I dont thhink any are near the NW at present, unless someone knows other wise.
