Shiner Bock is a good American beer with a strong German background :D
BUT
"Life is to short to drink cheap beer!" If you know your beer slogans you know where that one comes from.

If its not from belgium, its not worth telling somebody else to try it.

SOMEBODY doesn't know how to pour a friggin beer here!
-
Stinkin Europeans... Hey! Look ma, a pun! :D
-
It is nearly impossible not to pour a duvel like that. It truly is the champagne of beers, or one of them at least.
Also in the 8-10 % alch. range of belgian beers worth trying are:
De Vorboten Vrucht (need i translate?)
Very very good...
another great one is the Chimay

Cant ya tell i just got back from a week in amsterdam?10 reasons not to bring digital camera/binoculars on a vacation to a city. (http://141.161.196.100/amsterdam/amsterdam.html)
Grolsch is .9 euros at any god fearing neighborhood bar. Amstel is the Old Mil of beers there, and nobody with any self-respect drinks heineken. They understand that only the belgians and the germans (and the brits) know how to make a damn good beer. So that is what they serve. Kinda like the french only drinking italian coffee.

Nice pics erg. I like the cattle, the little birds in the field, oh, and the garbage...................... .............WHERE ARE THE WOMEN?!?!?!
-
Well sadly, the only time I was in the red light district, it was kinda early in the morning, and lets just say its kinda like walking down main street, looking into a window and... "Mom! What are you doing standing there in your underwear!", later in the day the quality improved immensely but when you are walking with your wife through a square mile of legalized prostitution and 'coffeeshops' selling pot and 'smartshops' selling mushrooms, lets just say you dont spend a lot of time looking around.
Dutch women (the non-prostitute variety) are not all that attractive. I live in DC, where the women tend to be quite pleasent to look at, so nobody there seemed worth taking a picture of. Besides, I woulda gotten my bellybutton kicked if I were looking at people with binoculars in a city like that.
here are a couple of women, sure they are half a mile away...

Curtiss, I just noticed your ball glasses. hehehe. My super is from florida, and lets say he is, in touch with those mountain people that live in virginia and west virginia. I have had my sampling of many an unidentifyable glass.
-
Hell who needs mountain people when you live less than two hours from some of the finest Alabama moonshine ever put through a still.
-
sure they are half a mile away...
