Title: camera-heads
Post by: culero on June 08, 2004, 10:16:46 AM
I'm shopping for a digital camera.

The usage will be taking indoor pictures in well-lighted locations at close (3-4 feet) and medium (10-20 feet) ranges of objects that range from 3 to 6 feet high and 2 to 6 feet wide (the close range pics being of the objects themselves, the medium range pics being of them and their immediate environment).

I need image quality that will produce sharp-clear prints as large as 4"X6", or 640X480 JPEGs.

I want the easiest to deal with battery situation - e.g. a combination of low battery consumption and as long as possible battery endurance.

I'd like to spend between $100 - $250.

Suggestions?

i have one of these (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000087L95/qid=1086708379/sr=8-10/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i10_xgl23/103-3166696-3627847?v=glance&s=electronics&n=507846) love it, just has a little docking station you put the camera on, that charges it and connects to puter.  its tiny so you can take it everywhere too.

Hey thanks for the input. That thing has great features for my purposes, as does it's smaller brother (the EX-S2) which I found while looking at this one.

If you like the Exilim, take a look at the DSC-T1 from Sony as well.

Looks nice but a tad over my budget on this project.
