First day playing around with the D100. Nothing serious. Just getting used to the camera.
For the shopping story, see this (http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=119517) thread;
p.s. Anyone want to buy a N80 body?

Playing around with shadows.
Cropped a bit, resized and greyscaled. I'm pretty happy with
the conversion.

More shadows
Last but not least...I just "had" to snap this one on my way out this morning...

Heh, nice pictures. At first I thought you were talking about a new Dodge pickup truck.;)

Jigsaw, I might be interested in buying the camera.
How much for it, and is it digital and what kinda of special things can it do, it won't be able to take pictures like that, but if I play around with it, I might learn some new things about photography. :)

Hawk, the N80 is film based. If you search for the thread about the Chino 2004 airshow, you can see some photos shot with it. It's a great little camera, I've just been wanting to convert to digital for a while and finally ran out of ways to talk myself out of it ;)
Here's a link (http://www.nikonusa.com/template.php?cat=1&grp=6&productNr=1776NCP) to the info page on Nikon's site.
The body is selling new at Ritz for $350, and going for $250-$300 on Ebay. Just looking for a reasonable offer. If no one here takes it, it'll go on ebay after I get moved.
Got it last December and have only run about a dozen rolls through it. Still have the manual. "Might" still have the original box, but it would be in CA so I'll have to have someone else check. It's been stowed in a padded case and in perfect condition.

Get the extended warranties for the camera and your expensives lenses they will keep their resale values that way.
Checkout Ebay for real cheap third party batts, i mean Cheap!
I always have three batts in my kit.
Also consider a Hitachi 4G microdrive as well on Ebay it can store 650 pics in Raw format.
Stop the camera down to F22 and shoot the sky, checkout the dust. Yes they come with dust right from the factory sometimes, my second 10D body did anyhow.

Sensor Swipes are great and have done it myself, no need to worry about changing lenses in the field yada...yada...
Buy good filters (if you use them) Hoya super multi-coated are expensive but there is no logic in sticking a cheap piece of glass infront of an expensive lens.
LowePro Toploader (75A) bags are great for carry your camera especially if you have a large telephoto lens.
Looking for info on different lenses here is the data base you need.

Your second 10D body? What happened?
Also Torque why did you switch from the D70?
-
Thanks for the tips Torque. I'll start watching for stuff on ebay and reading up on that site. I did get the extra "ritz" warrenty where you can "run over it with the car" (their words) and they'll replace it.
I grabbed a Lowpro Micro Trekker 200 so I'd have enough room for two bodies and four lenses. Not sure how to make it work with a hiking backpack yet.
What are sensor swipes?
