Check your BIOS settings on AGP memory.

Hmm, The texture size suggestion I get is 512.  Switching it to 1024 seems not to hurt performance except when AH decides to ***** about not having enough vram.  However, the framerate display claims that AH is using about 70 out of 128mb of vram.

Is it possible there is a bug causing AH to misjudge the amount of available vram? Or is it bumping the texture size down automaticly to keep it within vram?

(I have an ATI Radeon 9800Pro)

I had something similar

FX5600 256MB

AH1 showed 256 in Mem Available
AH2 showed 128 in Mem Available

Dxdiag showed 128
Vid card properties showed 256.

I upgraded to latest drivers and now AH2 and DXdiag show 256.

However AH2 has never used more than 70.
