As the headers says, I dont mean to be rude, but I usually squelch channel 1. I am saying this in case anyone types to me on channel 1 and I dont respond, I am either busy, or more likely I am squelching channel 1. I prefer not to see as much chatter on my buffer as there often is on channel 1, so I choose to squelch channel 1. Its just a personal choice. I probably have ch 1 squelched 95% of the time, so if you want to say anything to me, its gotta be on rooks channel or on private channel.
For anyone interested and doesnt know how, you can squelch channel one by typing .squelch 1.

I didn't know channel 1 could be squelched. You may be onto something there. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

So if the next new account gets created with the handle "1", then Dago is gonna be confounded? Hmmmmmm (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Another way is to just insure that none of your radios are tuned to channel 1.

Hmmm I thought I tried tuning all my channels to non-1 but one of them always tuned itself back to 1. I was under the impression you could not un-tune channel 1 (this is months-old information tho).
I did not realize you could squelch 1 I will try that soon. Not to be rude either....sometimes a little quiet is nice.

Can you still broadcast on ch.1 when it is squelched? I like to give the other pilot a <S> when I finish fighting them.

Great info! I always thought that channel 1 was a bit unrealistic anyway. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

I have tried "not having Ch 1" tuned. It didnt work, I still got the channel in my buffer.
I think you can still transmit on Ch 1 if it is squelched, but you might want to try it with a friend watching to be sure. When I congratulate someone on a good fight, I almost always do it on private channel now.
