Title: Question for EAGLER - re: X45
Post by: debuman on June 11, 2004, 03:18:56 PM
Eagler,
You seem to be the resident expert on the X45 here, so I thought I'd ask you.
I've been using your profile for the X45,and have come to like it very much.  However, i find that I have to do the folowing:
1. open the Saitek software, load your AH profile,
2. open and load AH,
3. go back to the desktop and hit the "profile now" key in the Saitek program,
4.  Return to AH and wait a minute or so for it all to take effect.

If I don't do this, or exit AH1 and go to AH2, the computer acts as though I am holding down a couple of keys and fills in the login in screens witha steady stream of keystrokes.  If I oppen word during this time, it will continue to fill the page with the letters that it seems like Iam holding down.
What am I doing wrong?  Is there a way to set up your profile in AH so that I don't have to got hru this process each time?

BTW - I have WinXP, Dir. X9.0, 1.5g computer, 256 RAM, etc.
Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.
THanks,
DEBUMAN

PS - same queston posted under the other X45 thread - I thought htis would get your attention...

i got an x45 too...

i have the profiler running in the taskbar.

it loads on startup. i right click and profile AH 01 (i have multiple profiles) then launch AH

if one of my rotary controls is not in the center position i get the text tingy.

MAKE sure they are centered. the profiler basically makes the x45 work like a secondary keyboard, with different combinations of keystrokes programmed to the buttons. B for bombs F for fire and so on.

if you are getting randon various charecters then you eitherhave a bad stick and multiple buttons are sticking, or you are having a driver issue of some sort.

a driver issue would first make me reload the entire software package from scratch after un-installing, then deleting any residual files or folders.

my best guess is that you have the rotaries not centered though.

for the profiler, if you do not have it running by default start it before AH and profile your stick before launching AH.

debuman - entering AH :
1. shut down my AV
2. right click the Saitek Profile icon in the bottom right and select AH profile
3. open AH
4. put plane on auto while climbing out and calibrate stick - everytime I enter AH as I want it as close as possible

The trick is to make sure the rotors are centered as they are set for trim control and if they are not then you get the trim keys being mashed down when you are out of the game...like you get in the text box sometimes when you try to type a message and the rotors are active and not centered to null command.

as for the mouse view on the throttle mouse, it is set as a 4 way hat in my profile so it won't do Seeker any good

Short answer: CENTER UR ROTORS :)

Eagler -
Thanks a lot!  I just checked - sure enough one of the rotor dials was turned all the way to the right.
Thanks again!
