Title: Inability to run AH034.EXE

Mayday...Mayday!!  Downloaded AHO34.exe successfully this P.M. Double-clicked it to install.  Installation a success, however,
every time I attempt to run the pgm I keep
getting the following error msg:
   This program has performed an illegal
   operation & will be shut down.
What's the cause of this error msg??  How can I run the pgm??
I've Windows 98, 200MMX & 2D, never had any problems like this before.  Suggestions/recom
medations are invited.   Thx.

Just a wild bellybutton guess here, but try deleting the video.cfg file from your Aces High directory, then launch Aces High and re-specify your vid settings.

What do you mean by '2D'?

Did you check the game's requirements on the website, one of which is:

- D3D compatible video card

If you've only got a 2D card then AH will never run on your machine.

It's true that I don't have a 3D card, but I
didn't realize that this game is SPECIFIC to
3D ONLY!

I'm able to play WB & AW3 utilizing my 2D with NO problems....still have a lot of fun..
seems to be a wee bit restrictive if such is the case .

I think you'll find it's the opposite. Catering for the 2D users is restricting the other sims' possible enhancements.

You'll have to bite the bullet sooner or later and get a 3D card. WB will be losing its 2D when WB3 releases in Two Weeks(tm).

that you are so right in ur estimation & I'll
have to bite the bullet & purchase a 3D card
after all <sigh>.
Now the search commences to buy a good 3D
