In 1968 I went on a trip to California with my dad. I was 6. We stayed at a nice hotel in LA. To my surprise, there were different cartoons on TV! One featured this character that needed your help with, for example crossing a river. You were supposed to draw in a bridge (or whatever). Unknown to me you had to send off for the magic screen that stuck to the TV.
When he woke up and I had drawn all kinds of stuff on the screen with a Marks-A-Lot I found. Hey...it was a 30 minute show. It took me a good hour with alcohol and toilet paper to clean it.
Does anybody know what cartoon this was? I never saw it again. (Thank God)

I saw the preview, and was totaly disgusted by it..
I mean, it dosn't even remotly remind me of Thunderbirds...Oh course, I've never seen them..

It will do well overseas.................this is the reason chitty movies are made. Good friend of mine works "in the industry" I had an in depth conversation with her as to how Hollywood can keep making movies that are obviously pure chit. Even if they know it will flop here in the U.S. they will still make it in the hopes it will rack in the cash overseas.

I kinda remember that. only caught it occasionally as it was on a Philly station and in those days before cable you could only get it in where I was whenboth atmospheric conditions and the ol Rabbit Ears were just right.
Wasnt it called "Winky Dinks" or something like that?
Wow that was a long time ago. at LEAST 35 years.Pre Bananna Splits.
"Combat" and "the Flintstones " were a weekly series

I hope Thunderbirds doesn't suck too much, we all grew up with Gerry Anderson's creations in the UK. He also did Stingray, Joe 90, Captain Scarlet (my fave) Fireball XL5, Space:1999, UFO, Secret Service, Terrahawks and of course, Thunderbirds (plus a few earlier but crappy 'Supermarionation' series).
One disappointing feature of the film is that Lady Penelope's pink Rolls Royce has been replaced by a Ford.... just isn't the same! ;)

I'll go see it. I loved that show when I was a kid; used to get up really early on weekdays to watch if before school. And yes...I remember Fireball XL5, too (gosh...I feel old). My brother got me a DVD with three episodes on it; my 6 year old has almost worn it out watching it over and over and...you get the idea. Anyway, I'll watch it for his sake, and for nostalgia.
