Mechanic - I've just got the ATi Radeon 9600 - I don't think it's PRO. Had to buy it retail after I was supplied a faulty 9800 which the supplier wouldn't admit to.

If you're rebuilding, all you need is one of them, a decent Asus mobo, and a reasonably good AMD processor. You don't need to go leading edge. If you go to http://www.scan.co.uk you could get yourself kitted out for around £200.

Before any further upgrades, I want to see how the 64-bit processors/OS work out.

LOL! The C-Hog. ;)  It's OK... I had become accustomed to AH2 gunnery, so when you blasted me from something like 575yds, I got a surprise! I got you back later on - twice. :)

Forgot to add in the cost of memory in that quote. I don't know what your existing memory is. Bring it all round to my house if you need help setting it up.

Title: NO cpn code
Post by: Happy1 on June 17, 2004, 07:12:23 PM
Hi snapperhead & all, accessed Atacom.com website to purchase the ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB DDR, entered the Coupon Code as Atacom9600Pro15, which is priced at $109.95, expecting to receive the $15.00 discount thusly purchasing the card for $95.00.

No such luck...no discount was given ... total price for shipping & handling came up to $127+.  Negated the deal ... tried to find cou-
pon codes w/no luck :(

Telephoned the company directly to inquire about coupon code
discounts, the clerk knew absolutely NOTHING of coupon codes stating it's up to me to find the codes ... to make a long story short the company opted to lose a sale gaining $95.00 + S&H
instead of a small discount, a case of a penny gained & a pound lost!     These are the type of people the companies hire nowadays .

Happy1  :D

Hmm it seems as though they have changed how the website works with codes.  When I made the post you put the coupon in the box then hit validate and it showed the discount.  Now it doesnt have that button or even tell you if the code is valid or not.  Oh well I guess they changed some things

ammo make sure you go for the XT or Pro models. They should be an extra $20 or so but they are quite faster.

Let me get this straight. You have an opportunity to buy a card with twice the mem for less money and you recommend not getting it because that much memory is overkill ..... for now. ;)

p.s. The xtasy 9600 256 card works great. :D
