I think that's why Ratty said 'just started'! :)  There's a problem with Pony B skinning and I guess he wants to see if they'll be considered by HTC before spending more time on them.

Official Spokesman for Ratman ;)

LOL Nexx, I forgot to mail you your salary this month. Trust me, it is on the way.

Selector, Nexx hit the nail on the head. I simply put down the camo to test it and see how the model skins with RAF camo. The big problem is the models use of mirrored sides. Everything ahead of the windscreen, the wings and the Horizontal stabs are mirrored. With RAf Camo you end up with 2 matching sides and that is not historically correct. I want to know if HT would overlook the wingtop camo so as to allow a couple of RAF 51s into the game. The D-Day one shows very little of the original camo. I will complete panel lines, rivets and weathering after I get a yay or nay from HT.

These shots show the mirror on the wings. This is the only view where it really shows. If most AHer's (especially HT/Pyro) are ok with this, then we could have a couple RAF 51's.

I like the look of GAOR moreso than the second one (NOP? Can't see the letters very well).  Those D-Day stripes are going to make for easy target shooting.  At least with GAOR there's a chance I can make a deck run unnoticed.

Any chance of doing either of these?

I want to have at least one with invasion stripes. DO you have a larger picture of the 2nd (US) mustang?

Glad to see someone working on the B.  Pyro said they were going to change the canopy- maybe then the mirroring thing will be fixed too?

I had run across this D-Day version too, though I like your camoskin very much too.

487th Fighter Squadron P51B "Francis B Too" of Ralph Hamilton, in full D-Day markings

P51B is going to be a heavily used plane - I hope they finish it off well.

Changing just the canopy or will the model see some changes? If they change the model I might be painting for nothing . Hope to hear from Pyro soon.

Oh!  Sweet!  Sounds like my pleas to go to a Malcolm hood have been heard!

If they do that, then I will definitely jump out of the G6 and into a B-stang more often.  The standard B-stang glass was annoying.

Here are some pics of a model of a P-51B based in China, for dsrtrat:

If I'm not mistaken, this Mustang was based with the group that was built from the AVG pilots, hence the sharkmouth on the nose.

It is not that difficult to change th e paintscheme once the rivets and panels are laid out. I can do both of those planes if I know that the 51 model won't be changing soon and rendering my work useless.
