Title: fREEZES..STUDDERS
Post by: IronDog on June 12, 2004, 09:52:32 AM
I been trying to get tothe bottom of the freeze-studder thing, and I still can't find the culprit.I thought vox was causing it,but that turned out to be intermittent.I run AH2 at 1280-1024,default on sliders, except 1024 textures, and unlimited fps.
The freezes are very intermittent for me,but always at worst possible time..Murphys law;) I think the HTC gang has done great job,and I'm really enjoying AH2.

Old drivers in your SB Live can cause stutters.  Do you tend to get them the first time a sound is played?  Like when your gear are raised, the first time you fire your guns, etc?

If this is the culprit, the way to fix it is to go to http://www.creativelabs.com and download the latest SB Live drivers.  After you install them, I recommend you run dxdiag (Go to start menu/run/ type "dxdiag").  Click on the sound tab and you'll see a slider for sound acceleration.  Move the slider back 1 notch from the full right position.  Let me know if that fixes you.
