Title: <S> Brian Mulroney
Post by: GRUNHERZ on June 12, 2004, 03:40:44 PM
I was really impressed with his speech at President Reagan's DC service.

I had no idea Canada produced such a fine leader and by all appearences a very decent fellow.

He can speak well, that doesn't necessarily make him a fine leader.  And if you had any idea about the crap he pulled as "Pri' Minister" you wouldn't make that statment.

There's a reason why Canada decided to all but destroy the Progressive Conservative Party after his "leadership" in the 1993.  The PC's went from having a majority government to having only 2 seats out of 295.

Dunno why... but I always liked the guy for some reason.

If I remember right, Bush Sr., Thatcher and Mulroney all got sent packing at pretty much the same time.

Well if you're going to have a left wing liberal plot to overthrow the free world it's important to get the timing right...or else what's the point?

Lessee....

(con) Bush--------> (lib) Clinton------> (con) Bush-----> ?
(con) Thatcher---> (lib) Blair-----> (heading for defeat to cons)
(con) Mulroney---> (lib) Cretian/Martin----> (heading for defeat to cons)

Due to the shorter election cycle in the US, and Kerry's likely win, it is my scientific opinion that Canada and Britain will have a 1 term conservative leader before lib/labour come back.

You heard it here first!

Mulroney was the worst Canadian PM ever...he was so bad that the conservative party lost official status (with only 2 seats nationwide)

If you guys want him there..I will buy his one way bus ticket

Well can't speak about Canada but in the UK the issue is not that the Labour party is going to lose but rather that Tony Blair has become a liability for a leftist socialist (sort of ) party.

If Labour get rid of Blair and put Brown in they'll win easily, keep Blair and they'll win just and the Tories will win after that.

What does make me laugh is how few people here realise Blair is  the leader of a very left socialist party - in USA terms - way, way more left than the Dems ever could be.

Mulroony was much more like a more competent and elequent Bush Jr then anywhere in the same leage as Reagan or Thatcher.
Say what you want about Reagan. He did what he thought was in the interests of his country not his own.

Mullroony was an unabashed thief.
