Took up a P51D had about 3 kills and decided to engage an la7 that was about 4k. Pretty much was a vulch kill as he wasnt paying attention, put 30-40 rounds right on top of him. Surely he was dead........nope.......he was still flying no wingtips, no ailerons and yet he was still turning with me. I started to roll film then decided to head home. He chased me 3/4 of the way then all of a sudden disappeared.

If both wingtips were shot off he can still borh turn OK and fly fast, very fast. BUT he won't be able to roll well as he must use his rudder to roll the plane.
I've fought like this aswell after having had both my tips shot off, even gotten kills that way.

muhehhe so did i in AH 1.... i were famous inside our squad for wingtipless flying... most of 262 i landed i comppresed and sometime tempest as well :D

Well I reviewed the film and on film the plane was fine.........although when he was chasing me on the deck Sundownr's plane would go into the water and come out

No wingtips and no ailerons?
-
yes Snapperhead, by shooting off both wingtips (the ailerons will of course go away with the wingtips aswell) the plane is once again balanced, equal weight and drag on both sides which makes it possible to fly as good as any plane except from the roll rate of course since the ailerons are gone. Rudder must be used to roll, thus yawing the plane and buring some more E at the same time.
A plane with no wing tips is always far better then a plane with only one wingtip.

errr, I'd expect a plane with no ailrons to start rolling due to torque. That is unless you put in a lot of rudder and fly completly uncoordinated.
maybe the torque modelling isn't that good after all.
Bozon

It does roll some Bozon, usually not very much though. It can still fight some, and if not fight it can atleast run.
