Watch it! We can RATE each other now :)
The new boards are different, in a good way. They load faster, the ubb help code menu is REAL nice and are they are over all much cleaner to view

You like this? BLECH! Takes forver to load, refuses to use Netscape's cache, and REQUIRES cookies! I just spent 15 minutes trying to log in! Hell the topic list for General is 72k where it was 32k, and the main boards list jumped to 107k!
I'll pray to the Almighty Old God Pyro to change it back. Since it won't use Netcrap's cache their bandwidth usage is going to rocket through the roof.

It was my initial impression. And other then the cookie bug it seems fine to me. It's the "ah_dev" embedded site that loads real slow.
I'm using Opera 5.11 and it's not doing the cookie refresh thingy either. The lights are perpetually "on" even if I click on the HTC banner in the upper left a couple of times.
edited: the cookie thing is working if I close Opera. It doesn't as it had with the old board when I would click on the black winged banner with the address http://www.hitechcreations.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi (http://www.hitechcreations.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi) embedded in it.

I'm using NS 4.08 and it won't use the cache, requires cookies (never did before), plus the size of the boards has doubled. Hopefully they'll get it fixed, 'cause I HATE using cookies. Best case, they or I find the problem and fix it. Worse case, I e-mail bug reports and just bookmark the News board. Frag the rest of the place if it takes me 10 minutes to load it and won't cache the pages.

Since it requires me to log in, I can't use the script that I usually use to read these boards instead of a browser.
The browser doesn't keep track of read messages like my script did. The browser wants to load up a whole lotta crap in addition to the text, too.
So unless I want to go to much too much trouble to re-write the thing to log in and use cookies, I guess I'm not going to be hanging out here much anymore :(

I like the new BB - it is very functional (for me anyways).
As for the rating, I expect to be a 1 star general within hours of AG/Sturm or The Wobble making a return. ;)

Interesting. I am curious to see how it develops further. I'm going to withold judgement until it's up a few days at least.

what is the purpose of a board if you can ignore someone? What is the thread going to look like when you have people responding to posts you have set to ignore and thus can't see? After you guys ignore me, let me know how it goes :)

Eagler, Ignore only means that the ignored (Creamo) individual (Creamo) cannot (Creamo) send you (Creamo) private messages (Creamo). Now, don't read anything subliminal into my message.

slow beast Netscape 6...and Netscape 4.something is NOT

This upgrade has some neat new features and was necessary, but we'll still be looking around at other message board options.

Interesting to see that some people have disabled the rating feature for their profile. I realize it can be inaccurate if only a couple of people rate you, but if 20-30 people give you a poor rating you might ask yourself why. Instead of disabling it, work on improving your rating. :)
