any reason why i cant change my color setting to 256 for ah2 like i have in 1?

You referring to 16bit color?  It is no longer supported.

no im refering to right clicking on ah2 icon on my desktop and clicking properties then compatibilty then checking the run in 256 colors box:)

It will not work in that mode.
