... in two weeks.
I hope they don't put him back in power

NOW that my friend is some really really STINKY BAIT!
-
Hopefully they do put him back in power. Just think of the possibilities..a whole new invasion! This could effectively *double* the US and UK's oil pilfering opportunities. I mean, let's be realistic here...1 short year just isn't quite enough time to take ALL of it, and my Blazer just guzzles the stuff. Come to think of it, this gives me double the opportunity to take a prisoner and pelt him with Nerf footballs (everybody's doing it!), I can run over twice as many cars with a tank (it's great fun!), make some "I killed his dad and knocked up his sister" signs (missed out on it last time!), and get in line TWICE for every meal at the shiny new Haliburton mess hall (expensive, but it beats the 4 months of MREs before they built it...and they reacted much too slowly to repair it the time it got mortared by freedom fighters during lunch). To top it all off, when the troops get back from the next one they can tune in to the AH BBS for an expert analysis of the whole event. Hopefully the new space man uniforms will be in the supply system by then.
Saddam 2004!

Stop the War for Oil crap. It's old.
If we wanted Oil, we would have invaded Mexico, or Venezula. They're much closer, easier to mobolize against, and would not put up much of a fight.
Or better yet, why did'nt we just keep the Kuwaiti oil fields in 1991? Why not keep the wells in southern Iraq when we overan them? WHy not finish Baghdad off when we had a perfect excuse?
Why did we fight the French attempts to life oil sanctions on Iraq in the mid 1990's?
Please tell me you have more than the tired War for OIl bit.

Muck... I think you're going to have a hard time removing that from your mouth... :lol

I just filled up my tank for $1.86/gal, it almost made me tear up. I'm not sure what that has to do with this thread, but I just wanted to share...is that so wrong?!
-
When you share SOB... it can only be wrong ;)

The court that tries him is going to be dominated by Shi'ite Muslims...who made up the largest proportion of his nearly 400,000 victims.
Care to speculate on the outcome or the possible form of his execution?

sooner the better
let him see a real cell for a change

Think they will hack his head off with a dull knife?

This Al-Jihaada will air it?

bah! They'll hire Johnnie Cochran for his defense, the prosecution doesn't stand a chance :lol

Since we're pulling predictions out of our collective a**holes, here's mine...
Saddam will never stand trial and will most likely be killed during or shortly after the transfer by an 'uncontrolable crowd' whom the media will report "took revenge for the years of torture and oppression under his rule".
Saddam will never be given a public forum to air the 'facts' about all his dealings with past US Administations.
I say good riddance, let them string him up like Mossolini and dance around his corpse like the fanatic idiots some believe they all are.

Bush in no hurry to turn over Saddam
Last Updated Tue, 15 Jun 2004 14:24:19
BAGHDAD - Saddam Hussein will remain in U.S. custody until U.S. President George W. Bush is satisfied that the Iraqi government has enough security in place to hold him.
"I want to make sure that when sovereignty is transferred, Saddam Hussein stays in jail," Bush told a news conference on Tuesday at the White House.
U.S. officials are working with the incoming Iraqi government on the terms of handing over Saddam and making sure there is "appropriate security," Bush said.
Iraq's interim Prime Minister Iyad Allawi earlier said that Saddam and thousands of prisoners being held by U.S. forces would be handed over to Iraq by the end of the month.
The Pentagon has said as many as 1,400 detainees will be released or transferred to Iraqi authorities.
In an interview with Al-Jazeera television, Allawi said "all the detainees will be transferred to the Iraqi authorities and the transporting operation will be done within the two coming weeks."
"Saddam and the others will be delivered to the Iraqis," he said, adding "you can consider this an official confirmation."
Allawi said Saddam will stand trial "as soon as possible," but did not give a specific time.
Saddam has been in U.S. custody at an undisclosed location since his capture in December near Tikrit.

I hope we left at least one tree still standing and about 10 feet of rope.:aok

While his defence would be interesting, there is nothing he can reveal about his past dealings with US administrations that is not known. Or at least nothing more embarassing than what is allready known.
His people recieved counter insurgency training and chemical weapons training from the Reagan administration. Almost every dictator in the world has recieved the first but few recieved the second. Encouragement to invade Iran(not that supprising looking at the time frame) and approval to invade Kuwait.
People do not care. They do not care now they will not care if SH says it. All they care about is feeling good about what thier country does.
"If we wanted Oil, we would have invaded Mexico, or Venezula. They're much closer, easier to mobolize against, and would not put up much of a fight. "
might be a funny quote some day.
