Tried to log into H2H tonight and the updater prompted me to download the new version. Update completed and install completed, I get a message saying that my video adapter does not support Hardware T&L. Does this means that my system has to be upgraded to play in the H2H arenas ? Hope not it's not a costly upgrade cause I've been playing this for a couple of years and would probably miss it. Can anyone else having similar problems with some advise let me know what to do about it.

What video card do you have? Other computer info may be of help.
-
My system is as follows:
Intel P4 1.6ghz
256 MB SDRAM
Windows XP (Home)
Intel(r) 82801BA/BAM AC'97 Audio Controller
NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64 / 32 MB RAM
-
You need a new video card. $50 or so.
-
You must have a GeForce or Radeon card to play AH2.
It has been posted hundreds of times and is on the MOTD on AH1.
-
Ok. Thanks for the help.

surely 9800pros are under $100 now? there £100 in the UK and UK prices are normaly double that of america.......so...hmm
9800pro is good enough for at least a year by my standards, maybe 2 or 3 for most people.

The Sapphire 9800Pro is not a true ATI9800Pro and Sapphire has come under fire for it. The Sapphire 9800Pro is really an ATI9800LE. A 128bit memory bus instead of a 256bit wide memory bus.
The ATI9800Pro is still near $200 U.S., while the Sapphire psuedo-9800Pro is much less.

nope, REAL ATI 9800pros are £100 ish + VAT now... so thats 117.50 + P&P......
most expesive one would be the sapphire fanless one which is still around 160ish
oh and im talking about the 128mb models, not the memory bus.
256mb ones start at £180-200 (which would = $200 due to our rip off britain mode) But then im not sure the 9800pro really NEEDS 256mb.
one thing im starting to notice is maybe ATI prices in the UK are more "fair" or maybe ATI are more expensive in America? because i was having a convo/arguement saying that ATI's are cheaper and faster than Nvidia and a few guys from the USA have laughed at me saying ATI are far from cheap.......

average, its slower than a 9700pro, and AHII pushes mine....(20fps near ground, 60-70 greater than 10k alt)

9600xt 128 works fine, stay away from the se

Yes Overlag I was speaking about the 256b bus width. That is a 9800Pro, but Sapphire mired the market when they introduced a 128b bus width 9800Pro.
They have recently changed the name of those cards and new boxes are set to go out and replace the current crop of cards marked as 9800Pros.
The memory bus width has to do with fill rate of the video card. The 256b wide 9800Pro has twice the fill rate of the 128b wide non-Pro models.
The 256b wide bus card is still around $180.00 here. The 128b wide card is much cheaper.

Buy this one: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=588461&Sku=P450-8503 (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=588461&Sku=P450-8503)
256MB for under $100. A friend of mine bought one and it works great for him. Seems like a good deal to me! :D

memory sizes has nothing to do with the bus width.......
128mb cards range from 100 to 160 UK £
256mb cards range from 180 - 260 UK £
(+ 17.5% vat)
Surely £100 or whatever it is in $ is not too much for a gfx card?????? at least it will get a frame rate in the 60s and not in the low 20s with a crappy 9500/9600
128BIT 9800pro cards are not for sale at the shop im getting these prices from, and yes i heard about them @ xtremesystems etc
