OK tried out this program recently and I have to say I love it 100% It is a gamers dream.
Imagine haveing a game that required 4 disks and having to change them all the time.......problem solved.
This proggie takes a CD and copies it onto your HD. Then it emulates a CD ROM drive for the game so you can run whatever game you like off your HD instead of a CD rom.
It keeps you from having to use your CDs all the time and its a helofa lot faster.
So far its worked for me for IL2 BF1942 BFVN Rise of nations CIV3.
The other advantage is if you want to "test out" a friends game on you puter u dont need your disk to do it. A couple of years ago this tech would be unthinkable but w/ HDs as big as they are today it is very aplicable.
I guess they also have a network addition as well.
This is free to download at download.com and you can probably find a serial for it on astalavista to "try it out completly"
Anyone else use this?

I just found GameDrive for sale (no box, just an OEM CD I think) for $5. http://store.yahoo.com/5dollarsoftware/gamedrive.html
Thanks for the tip on the program, since I play BF1942, X-Plane, IL-2, etc, this looks very useful!

Well.... that sounds kinda like stealing actually, but it's none of my business. I just posted the $5 link in case people wanted a legal option like I did, it wasn't a crack at you.

With many games it isn't necessary to copy the cd to your drive and then mount it with a cd emulator. You can usually find a hack to strip out the cd check. I certainly don't condone software piracy but one might find these hacks at a site called gamecopyworld, among others. This will work provided you do a full install of the game.
