Title: will 8x agp card work in 4x slot?

Question from one of my squaddies: Can you put an 8x agp card into a 4x slot and run ok? He needs a new vid card for ah2 but isn't upgrading mobo until later in the year.

Absolutley no problem at all. It won't even really run any slower.

Tell him to be careful though, there's not much point in putting a 9800XT with a 1.5 Gig processor or less unless he's going to port the card to a new mobo later.
