I have a PIII-450,128 megs ram, diamond V770 Ultra (haven't inccreased the boost) and am getting about 55fps in 1024x768 hi-res. A squadmate is reporting 70-80fps on a similar machine with the standard graphics card. Now my squadmate is Australian and they NEVER exaggerate. So what can I do to get that fps up? No difference with vsync on or off and that is curious. No extra programs in system tray either-only diamond "incontrol" tool, speaker, internet icon.
Fifty-five fps is almost TV quality but.....

I read an O/C review on the V770 cards some time back and some standard versions have faster memory chips than the Ultra does. My own testing of the drivers show the 4.10.01.0401 version to be the fastest of the Diamond offerings. As a side note the motherboard in your PC can also make a difference as I picked up 2-3 FPS when I switched from a DFI P2XBLS to a ABIT BH-6.

Just to let you know...
The human eye can only see 32 frames a second (the speed at which movies are played), so anything higher than that would not make a difference in what you are seeing in the game.

I got an Abit BH6, Celeron 300A @ 464, 128 megs of ram, and a Viper V770 16 meg card overclocked to 162/162. With the high res patch at 1024x768 I get between 60 and 80 fps. If you think your speed is a bit low, try changing from Diamond drivers to Nvidia drivers, Diamond drivers are never as recent and therefor probably arent as fast.

C333 @ 416, 64 Mb, Abit BH6, V770 16 Mb. About 40 fps all the time. BTW, how do I overclock the Viper? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
