Hello All! New Member Here!

I am interested in the x45 salitek, and that has a price of $79.00

do a search: Eagler X45 :)

I think its a great stick for the money. I suggest getting rudder pedals as soon as possible as the rocker rudder in the throttle is hard to control properly

also get a replacement plan, compusa has a 12 month plan for like $11. I replace my X45 about every 10 months for $11 <- cost of another replacement plan.

here's a profile to get you started - need to change trottle rocker back to rudder as mine is set for aileron trim

Title: Re-Mapping rudder

bandit752,
You can re map the rudder controll to the dial next to your thumb on the x-45. AH2 has made this easy...

I used to just have a cheap joystick with no view hat, then got a good deal on a CH Flight Sim Yoke and rudder pedals.  I thought I was in heaven - I could map everything to the controls on the yoke, not have to use the keyboard, etc.  But, after starting to have problems with one of the view hats,a nd the rudder pedals, I started looking around for a stick that also had the rudder pedal function built in - (couldn't afford new CH stuff....besides, except for the P38, who flies fighters with a yoke...).
Anyway, I wound up with the Saitek X45.  I am glad that I found it - it's worked out great for me so far.  I found that I needed to pop out the pinky extension ont he bottom switch on the inside of the joysitck, and now it fits very well.  I used the mapping set-up that Eagler did, modified it a little bit for my preferences, and now have a great time with it.  You can program about every single function into the joystick and throttle if you want to, and still have space left over.  Now I'm waiting to get the rudder pedals back from CH - when I do I think my set-up will be complete.
Thanks to the suggestions found here, I bought the 2 yr replacemenet plan at CompUSA - so if soemthing goes out, I get it replaced for about 10 bucks.  So far, it has worked fine.
For the money - I think its one of the best deals out there!

Saitek is also coming out with a newer version called the X52(?) so who knows - the price on the X45 may come down some...
