Ok, with the start of camp a month away, maybe we can make our pre camp predictions. Now to go with your home team is ok, but seeming where the Patriots are favorites(or should be) I am going to stay away from predicting them.
The Dallas Cowboys will be champs.

Read an interesting article in the Sporting News...
In 2003...
The team that scored first won the game 70% of the time.
The team that scored twice (in any way kicking or TD) before the other team scored at all won the game 84% of the time.
Teams that were behind in scoring threw 70% of the interceptions.

Shaddup and make a prediction.

I predict that it won't be the Raiders (but I'll still watch).
-
personally i like jacksonville, but knowing they haven't been doing to well lets join a band wagon of chargers (call me crazy) as champs. (pats will win)

The team with the most points at the end of the game won 100% of the time. :D

Sixpence, you need to share whatever it is you are smoking. I'd vote Republican if the Cowboys win. The Tuna does seem to have something up his sleeve. Quincy Carter is enjoying his last days as starting quarterback. The Cowboys have had an interesting history working with over the hill quarterbacks on the roster. Bernie Kozar helped Dallas make it to the Super Bowl his last year in the league when Aikman went down. If Dallas puts together anything resembling an Offensive line, be prepared to hear the chant:
"YO VINNIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEE!"
-
The Chiefs will look good and get to the playoffs and choke in the first round.
Yet again.

It's the Lamar Hunt curse. It was cast after he yanked the Texans off to Yankeeland.
-
Missouri is hardly "Yankee land".
Check your Civil War history. Thar was sum fitin' up thisaways too.
But I do feel sorry for Lamar; it's got to wear on him.
-
Toad, most of us natives consider anyone from North of the Red River a Yankee. Nuthin personal. :D

Well, I think they got a steal with that Drew Henson kid, he has the tools to be the next great Dallas QB. I don't think he can make the jump to starter this year, but don't count him out. I know alot in Dallas were baffled by the RB selection(or lack of), but don't count out the kid they did drafted. Dallas is a good team that is very well coached, I think they will win the division easily. I had thier defense in alot of my fantasy leagues last year, they make offenses nickel and dime all the way down the field. This makes the offense run more plays and raise the % of a turnover, the more plays run by the offense, the more of a chance they will make a bad play.
I'm almost tempted to switch to direct TV and get nfl sunday ticket. Not only will the NFC east have some good matchups, the Raider-Bronco games are shaping up to be real good, can't wait to hear what sapp has to say about the bronco offensive line. This is gonna be good.
And say what you want about the Chiefs, but they are exciting to watch(more reason to get sunday ticket), and who knows, maybe their defense will be much better this year. You can't deny their coach, he knows how to get to the superbowl. And if I have the 4th pick in the the fantasy football draft and Priest Holmes falls to me, i'm doing backflips, w00t!

I have no confidence that the Raiders will do better than 8-8 but it's going to be very interesting with all the new blood and some of the weird position changes. They really improved themselves on the OL and DL and I always maintain that is where the game is won and lost, so we'll see how that works out.
The only other team I have paid attention to is SF. They have a shot at 0-16 IMHO.

Surpise good teams: Bears (yeah I'm a homer, but that O-line...), Bengals (good coaching), Texans (good D).
Surprise bad teams: Eagles (not under .500, but squeak into playoffs), Vikings (gut feeling here), Panthers, Packers (Farve finally goes down?).
Playoffs:
AFC: Pats, Colts, Chiefs, and Titans. WC: Bengals, Texans.
NFC: Cowboys, Bears, Seahawks, Falcons. WC: Rams, Eagles.
SB: Colts (by virtue of home field in AFC playoffs) vs. Seahawks
Colts win it all.
There you have it, money in the bank.

lol majic, as a red sox fan, I could have told you that! Ya know, in some ways I really felt bad for that fan. MLB always advertises the fun of catching a foul ball, that's why they allow gloves to the games, it's part of baseball. That was a foul ball, and it is debatable if he reached over the railing or right at the railing. Now does anyone remember the kid that reached over the fence at yankee stadium to give the yankees a homerun? The outfielder was waiting for the ball to fall into his glove and the kid stole the ball, but he ends up on david letterman as a hero. Did that kid get escorted out by security?(not sure really) If baseball really cares, they will set the seats back a row to prevent it, because how, in the excitement of the moment, do you expect the fans not to reach for a ball? Especially a young kid who loves baseball? It's part of the game that belongs to the fans, the ones who pay good money with the hopes a foul ball comes their way. Maybe an instant replay official to review such plays?
BTW, nice pick with the Bengals, would be nice to see them get in.

I predict the Cardinals will still suck.

That's not a prediction Nuke, that's a fact.

I predict the seahawks will be a real team this year and the 49rs wont.
-
My prediction;the Bengals will end their 14
year drought and win the AFC North and make the playoffs.
-
Eagles. This is it. Finally.
-
Green Bay Packers... entire starting offense has returned, and only 1 starting defender has yet to return.
they will be working soo well together this year it should be an awsome show to see.
from what i have heard Brett really wants it this year. there are also some younger players that are really going to come into their own this year. nick barnett will go to the pro bowl as linebacker, heck the whole offensive line should too. ahman green is going to rush for over 1500 yards, and ferguson / walker are each going to have a super breakout year.

Not so fast my friend, remember, they are not in the east anymore. Their finish in their division may suprise you. If you are into fantasy football, I have been in some mock drafts, and Fitzgerald has fallen to the middle to late rounds. He is listed low in the rankings and people miss him, he is a good pick up. As the preseason comes along i'm sure his value will go up(but hey, I could be wrong), but in the early drafts, to pick him up in the middle rounds isn't a bad pick.

Well, every Saints fan picks his team to win the Superbowl every year.
Superbowl XXXVIV:
Saints 31 - Bengals 30
Won by a field goal by John Carney at the end of regulation.
It took us 30 years to win 1 playoff game... *sob sob*:(

I will continue to hate the Raiders, sulk about the Rams and root for the idiot Chargers.....

He did solidify his role............as backup
Yeah, the chargers do not look like a championship team, but they are starting to put young faces at key positions. A good draft next year and some free agents, and who knows. That's what I love about the NFL, everyone can compete, there is always hope.

NO WAY!!.... The EAGLES will make the playoffs this year, I don't think they will win more than 7 games. We lost too many free agents, and never did have any depth and surely don't have it this year. McNabb got the big money and turned into a Cunningham. We have no backup quarterbacks. No running backs ( unless you want to count the old "has beens") Eagles are notoriuos for signing Great players well past their prime. Face it they had the chance last year and as Usual, CHOKED!!!!! I still will root for my hometeam, but like i said it will be only 7 happy Sundays.
Pull this message back up in January:)

I have to explain.. LA area Raider fans are WAY more obnoxious than even Laker fans. Down here a Raider flag or sticker on your car most likely means you're in a gang... or you might like the Raider colors, but you probably don't know squat about football.
-
When I was a kid, we had two choices, the Raiders or the 49ers.
For the 49ers:
Losing team
Freaking cold stadium
For the Raiders:
Won the AFC west as a matter of habit
Cool story around them (the whole Autumn Wind mystique thing)
My dad was a fan
So... I'm a Raider fan... even after two decades of lackluster seasons.
...okay... you're okay MT. :)

No championship for the Cowboys this year, but maybe after Henson gets a year under his belt.
-
The Cowboys win the Super Bowl
The Longhorns wins the National Championship
The Mavericks Win the NBA Title
and The Stars win the Stanley Cup.......
then I wake up in a puddle.
I think the Longhorns can pull it off, but the rest is just a dream.
