Hi all,

Is this system gonna give me enuff fps to run AH in 800*600 or 1024*768 (16bit color)?.

System:

PII-266MHz
200Mb RAM
Creative Graphics Blaster Riva TNT 16Mb (Detonator 3.53 drivers)

Hard to say.  I am running a Celeron 266 o/c to 400 with a 16MB TNT, and get good frame rates at 1024 with the hi rez art.  I see a bit of chop in a hard maneuver in the clouds, but have no problem in furballs.

Your best bet is to download the game and give it a try.

I would say your right on the edge of no and yes.  It's hard to tell.  1028x768 will probably not work. 800x600 may be pushing it. i'm pretty sure 648x480 would work fine.  You know, now would be a great time to upgrade. new celey 533 is out at a cool 180 bucks. celey 500's are around 130 and a celey 400 is about 80 bucks.

save some money.  you have a PII Mobo, the new chip should just drop right in.

You may want a faster CPU to get good FPS.

Like Razer said get a cheap Celeron to replace the P2. The C400 is a steal and it overclocks well.

This what I play with and I get about 14-20 fps.  It aint great, but if you wanna check it out before going all out, I'd say you should be able to get better frame rate than me!!

Need a new mobo for a celeron. I looked into it and found out it won't fit into my PII mobo.

And from the weird but true files:

Try the 1024 resolution as well as the 800.

You may get better fps in that.

How about a Slot1 to the 370 converter?(around ten bucks)
Or PII 400 or 450 (probably under 200)

Micke, you should be fine. I run this game on a PII 266 w/164 RAM, voodoo3 card, in 1024 hires and it runs very smooth. I get between 25-40 fps. I hope this helps. Good luck  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
