Title: Is This a Game Memory Leak ?
Post by: kamori on June 22, 2004, 02:07:42 PM
HTC,
Most of us in our squad are experiencing problems with the software over a length of time (2 hrs + or so). Text buffers loose the text; clip boards are loosing their graphics. It seems that when this happens the video memory has increased at least on my system by 20 to 30 Megs. Then when we exit the game and come back all is good for a few hours more.

I have overclocked my video card. I do get the same results when I am at the standard settings also, others in my squad seem to be getting the same issues with an array of cards not over clocked. I am running the card very cool and it stays stable in all other applications.

Note I will be getting a New CPU in July the AMD XP 3200 400 FSB
Then the radeon 9800 pro 128 or 256 in August

HTC Do you have any suggestions on how we can test this more accurately? How we can monitor the memory usage better? This way you get more tangible feed back.

My system stats are:

Main Board: ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe
Cpu: AMD Thunderbird 1.33  cpu temp is 130 F when running AH2
Memory: 512 DDR 400
Video card: FX 5200 NVIDIA 128 Meg Over clocked to 290/400
HD: 80 med Ide western Digital

Several of us have the same issue.

There is some concern this is limited to ATI cards.

... same deal with me...

Slightly increased vid mem usage that grows over time, then text disappears from text box, white area where gun sight normally would be seen, can't see any of the planes/vehicles in the hangar selection window. I exit the game, come back in, good for another couple of hours.

ATI Radeon 9800 XT (256MB) not overclocked
Windows XP
AMD XP 2000+ w/ 1GB RAM    not overclocked

Hi-tech told me about the alt tab..I lowered my memory then i crashed to the desktop. It seems there many issues still to be solved. I do know of many unhappy people in the game thinking that this was realeased too early. Im not sure if it is or not. I wont be getting that ATI 9800pro for this game it does not run well in AHII.

Hitech, in a different thread, has said he believes he has solved this issue in Patch 3.
