VID = ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
MB = Asus A7V8X-X
CPU = AMD 2500+ Barton
OS = W98se
Mem = 512

Amount of Vid memory used seems to make no difference.

whats your DirectX?
-
That is usually due to a driver not being installed correctly. Like not removing a previous driver before installing a new one, or when switching to/from ATI/NVidia and not getting it all cleaned out beforehand causes it too.
Try removing the currently installed video driver, rebooting, then reinstalling it again.

OK used the cat uninstall utility and reinstalled vid drivers but thinkin I should have deleted the folders for tthe ati stuff first well gonna try it out and see.
Thanks Skuzzy

Yo worked so far!
Was online for over 4 hours last night and 2 of that was with vid memory used at over 93 mg.
Not a burp, stutter, or glitch so far!
Thanks again Skuzzy :aok
-
Glad to hear it is working for you.
-
Dang it!!!!
OK was using 1280x1024 and liked it.
Well got a message about vid memory and changing to 256 textures. So I did but looked kinda blury to me so went back to 512 and shortly there after baabaa47e again.
Restarted AH2 and it wanted to use 1024X768 so said hmmmm and went with it.
No more problems so far ????
Maybe my vid card was gettin messed up at higher setting????
Will keep you informed.
-
Ok, what you may be running into will have to do with Windows 98. It is no longer supported by Microsoft and even driver support for it is waning.
You may be stuck running the game at the same resolution as the desktop.
-
OK Thanks.
Guess I better start thinkin of dual boot system or all usb :(
-
OH one other thing!
When I'm using 1024x768 it says I have 129.9 vid memory??????
Thought I had a 128 vid card????
Showed 127.9 in 1280x1024.
Is it using additional memory from ram?
Or is it dividing up the memory differently?
Page frame thing?
Noticed memory reported used is like 5x.x with 1024x768 and 79.x with 1280x1024.
-
The value reported can vary depending on the number is derived. If they use 10^6 nomenclature to derive the value, then it will be different that if they used 1,000,000 as a MB.
