You know I admit to alot of things. I have a bad temper. I'm lazy. I even tear off those pillow tags that say "DO NOT REMOVE ON PENALTY OF LAW". I'm not perfect, but I don't cheat.
Now that said, I'm not immune from the slings and arrows of the internet. I run a PIII 600 with 2 channel ISDN. Neotrace pings my route to HTC around 85-115 ms most evenings. But I saw little warping tonight, and my beacon was in the green all night.
Anyway, I'm bebopping around in my Spit looking for mischief and I get bounced by a pair of Spits. I'm dead. I mean I've had it. I'm low, slow, and alone. Too far to run for ack, no help from friendlies, and no alt to dive away. I says to my self: "self, these bastiges might have you dead for rights but you gotta makem work for it. And by God, if they make the slightest mistake, they'll be eating crow for dinner instead of Wabbit stew!"
So I start jukin and Jivin. Taking my shots where I can get them. Trying my best to cling to every scrap of E I can. These guys know they got it made. So they ease back and prepare to enjoy this. They set up the old see-saw where one buzzes me while the other is grabbing E. I flip, I flop, I bide my time until I get my one chance. And I got it. A quick snap shot. A shot I wouldn't have normally even tried for. But the most dangerous pilot is often the desperate one with nothing to lose. With cannon and MG I do enough damage so that when he loads G's his wing comes off. Now I think its a good time to cash in my chips and go home while I'm ahead. But it wasn't going to happen that way. The other Spit, who had just climbed up to his perch, was none too pleased. He come barreling down on me like the avenging hand of God! I flip, I flop, but he has WAY too much speed built and instead of extending and taking his time, he pulls a high G turn. We're almost Co-E now and for the first time, I'm really nervous. I'm nervous because I do good when the odds are hopeless but invariablly choke when the odds are good. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) But another lucky, high deflection snap shot leave the last Spit sprinkling pieces of himself across the rural Knightland landscape.
Whew! I feel good. Some days I fly like a dweeb. Some days he Great Carrot up there smiles upon me. Then I hear that second Spit go into a tirade on open comms about what a cheating SOB I am. I induce warp to save my arse. I disappear and reappear. I fornicate with small animals and my mother dresses me funny. Blah blah blah. You name it...
I was really enjoying the fights tonight but this dweeb pissed me off so bad I had to log off before blowing my cool. I did tell him I would post my film of the fight on the bbs to compare with his to show that thing did look smooth on my end and my beacon was green so...WTF!
I plan on being here a while. I plan on diggin in. I don't like so dweeb blasting accusations against me in the open arena. The people who don't know me yet might not know any better and believe its true. So, to the community, heres the film. Decide for yourselves.

About beacon.. why people so blind after beacon?
90% of times I get connection problems, my beacon doesnt even blink. (not even when connection been on out for last 15 seconds)
Not even best connection method guarantees 100% reliable connection, if either ISP is bad or puter configuration is wrong. (packet size usually too big)
** This is a reminder for everyone about connections, so they won't go tell "I have megagiga bandwith thing, I cant warp!" (if hes the one whos really warping)

Well your connect sounds like its on steroids and this might casue those with inferior hook-ups to see funny things
......I dunno.

Just after the 2 Spit fight, you can see a N1K and then a P-51D do some big warps, then a N1K(prolly the same one) warps a bit before Wabbit shoots it down... stuffed if I know what that indicates though :?

I agree. But I do generally get good connect to HTC. And you'll see from the film that there was no major warping from my POV. What else can I go by. Looked smooth to me. I think me disappearing and reappearing on his six, is more commonly know as a barrel roll. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
If he was concerned all he had to do was say:
"Wab, you connect seems a little shakey."
and I'd say,
"NP bud. I try re-logging."
You know, like adults.
Maybe we'll see in his film me warping around. Like I said:

The fight looks like a good job of flying and luck Wab. daveed and Crash177 stalled it looked like at key moments. The overshoot shot was classic IMHO. If I am pinned down I will take alot of shots I normally won't take. And I have been in the position LOTS of times thinking "boy I got this guy" and next thing I know as we cross I lose site for a split second and the next thing I know is I am going down in flames. Do I yell cheat? Hell no! The was better than me. And that is most of the guys/gals flying out there (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
I have also seen warps and it is frustrated to saddle up and watch the plane just zap around to 6. But I consider that wow it may be my end or his. I have never screamed cheater no matter how frustrated that I am. I may ask if they saw warp on their end or mention that there was huge warp. Anytime someone tells me I warped I relog. No prob. If I am still warping I call it quits for a bit hoping that the totally unpredictable internet gods will grant me a good clean route to HTC.
Also I have known AKWabbit for a couple of years now and firmly believe that he wouldn't cheat. He is a very honourable sim pilot and would do anything to help a pilot out.

I've winged with AKWabbit many times and can honestly say this:
If he cheats, he doesn't do it nearly enough.
Ah.. tis sad that so many jump the gun to call someone a cheater. Most are more likely to remember the first person that called them a cheater over the first person they shot down. Lasting negative impressions of a game.

I've flown with and against AK Wabbit for at least a year and a half or more. Never even thought of calling him a cheat.
Warping?? maybe,, cheat NO WAY!!
Everyone warps on occassion, even with the best of connects....

I was there last night and never saw AKWabbit warp at all.

I understand that warp can be frustrating but to go on a rampage (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/mad.gif)about it and accuse someone on open channel of cheating is unproductive.
Warp happens and it's not always visable to the one who is warping.
If you see someone who is warping badly the best way to handle the situation is to avoid him if possible and try to be sure to check with other pilots to see if THEY see him warping. If he IS warping THEN go on open channel and try to politely tell him he's warping.
Most guys will relog.

I did see a little warping of some of the other planes there in your. You sure you werent suffering from some of the microwarps that were plagueing us all last nite? I know I saw a couple guys whose warps were so bad that I couldnt even saddle up on em.
I am sure you werent cheating but I could understand where his perception came from.
Dont sweat it, Crash is from Jersey and is kind of a hot head (but really an all around good guy). Dont think you were cheating. Nice flying.

mmmm. I mean I've seen warps before. And I'm sure I've warped. But as far as the two spits I was fighting, they looked smooth as glass to me. So I could only assume it was the same for them. If I though I was warping too much for fair play I would have disengaged or at least apologized after the fight.
If the film you see som minor warping at distant cons. I believe that is a product of the programs dead reckoning reconcilliation algorithm. I believe the position update of dots beyond con range is less frequent and deltas build up between actual and dead reckoned position. When the con gets to where you see his type and distance tag the updates increase and any delta must be reconciled. Thats that initial warp when the get to con range. At least thats what I believe. But in my near vicinity, everyone seemed to be flying pretty smooth.
I am awaiting Crash's film. If nothing else it can demostrate to this community that things can look very different on two peoples front ends even in the same fight. Realizing that, they might be more reluctant to start accusing people at the drop of the hat. Even though the fight looked very smooth on my end, I may have been a Mexican jumping bean on his.
We'll see.

AKWabbit your some what correct on the initial warp. There will always be 2 (lets choose a different word for these type of "warps") Burbles. 1. when the con apears. and a 2nd one around 3.7k. Ive been trying to think of ways to help those burbles over the past years but every thing i think of creates other abnormalities that are worse than the burble we have now.

Despite what little numnuts thinks or saw on his FE, you don't cheat!. Hell, little numnuts couldn't even get your name right. He was accusing me not you, and I was nowhere near the little maggot. He's just pissed you got the best of him and his pal.
Lately there's been a whole lotta warping going on. Hell, the last few days, I've been warping like crazy, there's little I can do as it appears to be a local Ma bell problem. I relog 6 to 10 times before I finally give up on the bad nights.
Crash177 warps to save his arse, disappears and reappears all over the blamed sky, fornicates with small and large animals, old dolls, discarded hotdog buns, and both his mother and father dress him funny, blah blah blah. I think the last three words say it all: Blah blah blah.

You didnt warp, u disappeard and reapeared someplace else....not in my six, just some place else and you were the only one doin it, and it didnt happen again all night so I know it wasnt my connect, no rw or any other apps runnin. I don't know it was a cheat fer sure so I shouldn't have said anything. As far as I'm concerned the issue's over.
And wabbit, nobody said toejam to u, u put yourself in the middle of it on ur own. If you dont like what's said dont jump in the middle of conversations you have no part of.

I started the film after the first blinkout, unfortunately I started it too close to the second blinkout to catch the second one. Having flown all manner of flight simms for goin on 6 or 8 years I've seen plenty of blinkouts before but never 2 in a row that were that well timed.
I can honestly say I've never come across anyone I thought was cheating before(aside from the obvious ctl-alt-del idiot that I've only just encountered in AH). I guess if you fly long enough it's gotta happen sooner or later. I haven't viewed your film yet but you obviously posted it, if you say it's smooth I believe you and will chalk it up to another internet foible we have live with.
Anyway, regardless of whether there was a cheat involved or not (in hindsight, I dont think you did anything intentionally, I just overreacted.) I was totally wrong to shout it out like that on the open channel, I was wrong and I apologize.

Having suffered thru a couple years of escalating "cheats & cheaters" on AW I'd like to make the following comment...
A strong user group is paramount to maintain integrity..HT and crew can only do so much to police the game. So....
1) CRASH...I do believe you got to call em like you see em.
2)AKWabbit...all who've flown with/against you realize it was a mistake glad you had the film to post
3) CRASH...the flip side to calling it like you see it...is realizing you saw it wrong...
I think your last post showed a lot of class
In closing, without a willingness to police ourselfs we'll end up as bad as AW and others. Only some form of peer review (and action from AH when required) will prevent the problems we all want to avoid.

We used to fly in Jasta 11 together in flying circus. He is NOT a cheater! He know's too much about ACM to resort to cheating.

This probably need not be said now, but just for the record...
I have flown with and against Wab for a little over 2 years now, and I must say that even though Wab and I sit on opposite sides of the fence in most issues (like we don't agree on anything, do we Wab? Hehehe (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) The one thing I can say for him is that I have never known him to cheat, hack, or deliberately cause a warp...even back when FC was easy to deliberately warp.

Its that nasty little piece of hard fabric sewn into the end of the pillow, containing all the ingredients of said pillow. It usually can be found trying to crawl into your earhole while you are sleeping soundly.
The only remedy for this is to tear afore mentioned tag off...usually resulting in hvy fines or imprisonment for those that are caught violating this sacred law.
p.s. Those tearing tags off can usually be seen squeezing the Charmin at the grocery store.
