I'm looking for some information / pictures on radios used in Soviet aircraft. The pictures I have are in black and white, and I can't see any details. Were some made out of wood? Oh yes - these radios are in the 1935-45 era. :)
Anyway,
Thanks in advance,
Waffle

Here (http://mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/mig3/cockpi.html) is a link to Massimo Tessitori's MiG-3 cockpit page. The radio illustrated is the RSI-3, FAF museum has this radio set in it's collections. It's by far smallest radio set I've seen used in the WWII fighters and Finnish pilots which used it (in the captured LaGG-3s) claimed that it's a very good set. At least the set I have played with contained no wooden parts.

edit: Ah, I mixed things a bit; the RSI-3 is the transmitter unit and RSI-4 is the receiver unit. Together these are the RSI-3-4. The pictures and drawings in the Tessitori's site contains whole RSI-3-4 set and FAF museum has the whole set as well. It's suprisingly small unit; RCA, RI 357 and FuG sets are huge if compared to the RSI-3-4.
