What is the reason they were put underneath the nme plane ?

So that you can't use the icon as a "aim finder" if the con your fighting crosses below your nose. It also disappears if the con is right on the deck.

Good feature.

Originally in the Beta, all icons were underneath all planes/GVs, including friendlies..... but then it was impossible to know if anyting on the deck was friendly or enemy, so friendly icons went back on top.  :)
