The sheep are overmodeled. The Knits left the place a mess and the B26 (for the uninformed out there) is NOT a fighter.
aside from that; kewl.

Agreed.. the new detail on the terrain is fabulous (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
A small whine though. B26 gunner positions seem to be all over the place compared to the B17. (Maybe it's just my setup)
e.g. in the B17, key 4 takes you to the tailgunner, key 3 for the top turret etc
I've noticed in the B26, key 4 take you to a side gun and I think key 2 is for the tailgunner. Really wish there was some kind of standard key arrangement for buffs.
As I said, maybe its just my keymap.

Jekyll,
Edited my post after rereading your comment on the gunner positions for the B-26. It is a little confusing after using the B-17.

The contour rolling terrain is great! It prolonged my one of my lives by 23 seconds last night!!
Kudos to the HTC team!!
To all who shot me down last night, and the list is long, take this (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif).
NOTE: Please watch the smiles guy until the tounge sticks out!
Was a great time!!

I have a feeling this won't be the last negative comment on the B26... I flew the 20mm/2x50 loadout on the 109 last night, and it was easy to slide under the belly, climb up sharply, and gut B26's untouched.
Either the pilots will learn how to evade better or the will fly low and use the new terrain. I will try a low-level assault tonight!

Hi res gauges, rolling terrain, B-26....

I used the exact same technique last night in the 109 to kill a B-26,however the 190 is a different story. Check the JG2 website later today for a small A/H film I will post in the hanger-it tells a different story. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

GREEEEEEEEEEN with jealousy, wasn't able to get on last nite, could one of you post the README.TXT here so I can see what changes were made while I'm here at the slave camp? Thanks! (If rolling terrain and B26 was only changes, don't bother, I know that much already from reading this thread)
WHOOPS! Never mind, someone did post it below thanks!

A quick word on the b26 gunner positions: They are not any where near complete. I'm sure you've noticed that there is still a lot of interior modeling to be done, and also the range of motions for the guns also need a lot of tweaking.

I can tell you the 109 now climbs like a scalded cat, making the belly approach very easy to do. Haven't flown anything else yet.
-
I happen to like the B26 very much! My first kill last night was a B26!! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
Oh! You mean to fly!!??!! Whoooops! So sorry! Can't help ya there!! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
As far as the 109 goes. I flew it last night! Not too bad!
Four JG2 members (Weazel, Propnut, DoctorYO, and I), all in Me109s, flew to F5 and had some fun with those bad mannered bishes!! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) Our formation was so awe inspiring the bishes were memorized for about 3 seconds. I lasted longer than usual! Even got a kill! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/cool.gif)
Me thinks me will fly that crate more often!!

Great stuff HTC keep it comming. I for one realy dig the high res gages. I can actualy read them now (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
no squeak on the B26. The read me txt said the art work was not done. Lets check and talk about the flight model.
Historicaly those planes had to deal with flack more than fighters as the lw was usualy going after the 24's and 17's over Germany while the 26's were hitting targets in France at the same time. times that the 26 ran to lw formations with out fighter escort they got mauled like most any bomber.

My first flight and second in the B-26 were very productive. I certainly assisted in increasing someones kill ratio! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Actually I had a problem too. After firing a couple of test bursts.....the guns quit firing. I had plenty of ammo, but they didn't fire. After getting back in the pie-let position and jumping back to gunner-same thing....a few bursts then nothing. It was better the second flight. Guns dont overheat do they? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
I love the terrain and B26! Keep it coming!

Although I prefer the B-17 and didn't intend to fly the B-26 after having a look at its defensive armament I had to do a ride in it because I discoed in a B-17 otw to a HQ.
Of course the P-51 that showed up over target (like the other P-51 that joined the party later) tried to go to the belly position. Well, the jinking and banking to deny this belly shot brought me from 20k to 5k on the 50 miles home, but surprisingly I managed to damage both P-51's fatally.
This bird can be tough if properly flown, but certainly isn't my favourite ride, too much action (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
BTW, noticed the 'short bursts' syndrome too. Squeezed the trigger and got only short burst, but at least I would get one burst per button press).

The way I see the new B26 is this; individually it is toast against any opposition, so long as the opposition is determined and careful. Collectively it can damage a base in a hurry because of its good climb, speed, and useful bombload.
B26's would be more attractive to me because they get to a useful alt faster. Having to cross the mountains in a B17 means at least a 25-30 minute climb, and often I only have an hour to spend. Further, if I spend 45 minutes climbing only to get discoed near target... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/mad.gif)
The B26 has one more thing in its favor; the cheek .50's. Once the ack is down, and the bombload is dropped, the .50's can be used to strafe structures. Maybe they won't do much damage right now, but I assume someday soon they will (if not already). It goes without saying that vehicles could receive some tender attentions too.
