any 1 that knows about ATI drivers please tell me which 1's to download...i go went ATI.com and dowloaded a graphic's driver..but dont know if i should download any more!
-
Actually you need to update that sound card driver something fierce and reduce the hardware acceleration from Full to Standard (3/4).
See DXDIAG, under the Sound tab you will find the slider.
You have the latest ATI driver.
-
how do the hardware acceleration...???:D i am kinda a putz at pc's
-
we..how to*
-
i've been trying to find a driver for my sound card for a couple hours know...i know its a Creative Sound blaster and i went to the site and downloaded a Sound blaster PCI 128..dunno if that was the correct driver tho... any suggestion Skuzzy! btw thxs for trying to help me! <

"Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1300MHz
Memory: 128MB RAM "
and running XP ...... heck xp is using up most of your ram just idling ... I'm suprised that your playing at all .
Also i bet you need to adjust the video down also (to performance) and probely run in 800x600 16bit
well thats all ive noticed ..
-
Yes, the amount of ram you have could cause stutters as Windows will be swapping processes in and out or ram as they run.
128MB is the bare minimum for Windows XP to run in. To run any applications you will most certainly be swapping to/from your hard disk, which will cause slow downs of virtually everything.
Run DXDIAG (from the Windows desktop: Start->Run->DXDIAG). Wait for the progress indicator (in the lower left corner) to complete, then select the "Sound" tab. You will see the slider in the lower left area of the dialog panel.
-
so if i happend to buy more ram... a lot more ram at that would it help much ??
-
You need to add 256. You won't beleive how much better your system will run. Win XP is a RAM hog.
-
It will definately help. 256MB is considered the minimum, while 512MB is considered a sweet spot for XP.
-
okay i'll go and buy 256 mb of ram then  :aok thxs for the help guys!!
