Title: Need t-90 mbt pitures plz
Post by: Blank on June 25, 2004, 03:53:26 AM: Please someone need pictures of russian T-90 MBT turret especially around commanders hatch showing how the PKT machine gun is supported.

Spent ages looking for decent pics on web cant find that elusive picture.

Post by: Blank on June 25, 2004, 05:08:31 AM: Been all through every web search on google, altavista, ask jeeves etc etc searching for t-90, t-90 mbt, t-72bm etc etc, cant find a high enough res pic of the turret top, got some good ones of the front of turret but need a pic from top/back, and left side.

I think only pic maybe from scan from t-90 book or private pic from Military show?

One of the directors came in (actually in the country for a change)and I asked about a janes account so I could find those elusive pics.

Turns out when he'd been in Oman last he'd been taking pics of a t-90 whilst standing on the turret and interiors etc etc but hadn't put them on the network so they were still on his laptop.

Needless to say how the F^%* am I meant to use pics that aren't in the write place, his loss as Its cost him loads in my wages to make the model so far he he :D

Post by: Blank on June 25, 2004, 07:20:30 AM: Work for a company called DTMedia that makes recognition software for the mititary and also a naval bridge training simulator. (used by Royal Navy amongst others)

We also do CGI animations/ film compositing and Computer based training.

Mainly its all for the military but get a bit of civilian work.

My Job is a 3D Graphic Artist, which means I make planes,tanks, ships etc endlessly, forever and ever (have to kick myself sometimes as its a kick arse job, just gets a bit repetitive unless you get a tank or plane you love)

Insight is all High poly stuff, fleetman is all low poly models.

(the military is soooo behind when it comes to graphics there lucky to get a sim that looks like AH1) :D

Sa-8 was done by another artist here (theres 4 of us). I didn't any you see on the site as I've only been here 6 months and the site hasn't been updated in that time.

But heres one i did for an animation here (only a test render so FOV a bit dodgy)

prolly just me, but there is something with the tail that doesnt seem 100%..like its bent. Maybe its the weathering you have done that gives me that illusion.

Na Looks weird due to camera (or lack of) I out to render a nice scene with proper camera and lighting.
Its fairly low poly as well, notice straight edges on tail as there not many polys in it plus only had a couple of days to make it and its for an animation so doesn't have to be quite as accurate.

Anyway off home now so its time to hit the beach for a surf and then get drunk.

Hopefully be back in AH soon once i get a connect back at home.
