My position on this has alway been that the war on terror is NOT strictly a war of retribution for 11 September, nor strictly on those directly related to that event. It is what it is called, a war on terror, and ALL those who practice and support it.
This particular document only yields the fact that there were indeed overtures between Hussien and bin Laden. This anyone with sense already knew occurred. There simply does not have to be Weapons of Mass Distraction nor DIRECT ties to the attacks of 11 September to justify removing Hussien. He was himself a terrorist and a sponsor of terrorists.

"The document states that Iraq agreed to rebroadcast anti-Saudi propaganda, and that a request from Mr. bin Laden to begin joint operations against foreign forces in Saudi Arabia went unanswered. There is no further indication of collaboration. "
"The commission concluded that the contacts had not demonstrated "a collaborative relationship" between Iraq and Al Qaeda. "
"Some of the intelligence provided by the group is now wholly discredited, although officials have called some of the documents it helped to obtain useful."
Oh yeah, no doubt in my mind.

It has allways been my view that the war on terror is what every its proponents want it to be. Or more accuratly Anything that the proponents want to be the war on terror, is.

And in what way is this different from any other war?
