its been too long since school so...
likly or likley ?
did a google and both came up with 25k vs 32k in number of results. I could look it up, but maybe both are good or perhaps its often spelled wrong?
-
LIKELY
UNLIKELY
:)
-
Likly isn't english.
-
How about likely.
-
Sweet jesus.
I've got a new website for you: http://www.m-w.com
The google trick would work if, and I emphasis IF, there weren't so many bad spellers.
-
of cours its likely :o
When i was in school i had an A in english and almost never did any mistakes at all. I know its been 11 years or so since my last lesson but i feel like im getting worse every day. Must be the internet that has ruined it for me
Whenever i speak with tourists from GB or the US they ask me if im american and that i speak with a New York accent. They are stunned when i say that i have never lived there. I've spoken alot of english in the navy and with friends of mine from abroad, but almost only use the written language on the internet.
-
I got 15 million results for likely.
-
I should have known something was wrong when i only got 32k and 25k results on both words since its such a common one.

tried J_A_B but nothing came up.

"likly" is misspelled.
"likely" is spelled correctly.
That's what spellcheck.net told me.
If my above link doesn't work, google for "free online spell checker", it should be the first hit. If that doesn't work than it's internet wierdness.

I have to start paying more attention to my spelling, and it would help if folks around here would point it out if i spell things wrong. I hate it when i get bad spelling habbits. Its ok for a teenager trying to be cool i guess, but for someone closing on 30 its not charming anymore.
-
You spelled your name wrong-it is "Neilson"

do not start correcting peoples spelling. jumping off the topic to correct spelling (you must know what they meant or you wouldn't know it's wrong) is the most annoying thing every.
it's like being in grade school and having to piss immediately, you ask the teacher if you can go to the restroom and she gives you a ten minute lecture on how you should have asked if you MAY go to the restroom. meanwhile your teeth are floating as you dance up and down while trying to tie a knot in your dick.

I'm not correcting others, I would just like to be corrected myslelf.

try http://www.iespell.com/ it gives you a spell check tab in IE(only English though, I think).
my spelling was always horrible, I was usually the worst speller in my class in school. it's improved drastically since I can see which words are wrong while it's fresh in my mind.
it also takes care of the latest problem I've developed, where I get the letters down in the wrong order (another side-effect of last years accident).

Thx, does it work for mozilla? I have the same problem with getting the letters in the wrong order when i type fast.

not sure.
if you go to checksix.com it has a spellcheck tab when you go to the bottom of any thread. if you click it, it will ask if you want to install the spellchecker into your browser.
that'd probably be the easiest way to check.
