Title: Patch install hides extra skins?
Post by: TDeacon on June 26, 2004, 08:31:43 PM
Well, the "delete post" feature doesn't work, so I will modify this thread:

Question 1:  Is something wrong with the following?  I now have 3 different skin environments:

1)  Online, which will only show the limited number of skins apparently associated with about 25 .res files in my skins directory.  No idea how these files got there, as friend has nothing in his skins directory.

2)  H2H, which only shows the default skins.  Prior to Patch 4, I was able to use the .res files.

3)  Offline, which shows all the .res files and also various skins I downloaded from http://ah-skins.com.

Question 2:  Where is official HTC description of how the skins concept is supposed to work.  Skuzzy has stated that http://ah-skins.com is not supported by HTC.

http://www.ah-skins.com provides only offline skins and templates for skin makers.

I guess HTC is working on the new homepage, which will include all the stuff people need and demand. :)

Thanks for responses, Lucull & Hitech.

Although the complete skin scheme is still not clear to me, I guess the info will come out in time on these boards.

Offline: You can make any skin you wish. Folders override the .res files.

Online: You are updated automaticly with our aproved skins. These are downloaded in the back ground as you play. Only our approved skins i.e. .res files can be used.

H2H: No skin avalability.
