You new guys ( in a sense ) have been playing the same game, with no changes AT ALL, day after day for your entire tenure here.
No changes to and old friend are comfortable. You've never had changes here. And now that there are, your no longer comfortable.
This game IS change. The reason there were no changes in AH1 in your time here is that all energy went toward AHII.
AHII is now here. Now you'll see changes on a monthly basis. Tweeks, improvements, debugging, new features, new planes..
This is the way it USED to be prior to your arrival. You've never experienced the ride. It always changes, you look forward to the latest update. When the crew are workin this place rocks with new stuff.
Take a ride. If you've read the boards the oldtimers were longing for the days of old, with constant updates and changes.
AH1 hasn't changed in a year and a half. It wasn't born that way, it evolved with constant updates and new features. AH1 is the sum of a multitude of updates that came on a constant basis.
The ride has started once again. Relax, go with it. Your old friend is going to get better on a constantly updated basis.
If you don't want things to change go fly WB. Only thing changing there is the census :D
..on second thought, I wouldn't wish that on anybody.
Relax. In the coming months you'll see what the oldtimers were longing for.
Chill, and take the time to learn the game. If you didn't fly beta, you have a couple of weeks to get up to speed.
Just in time for the next update.
The ride begins once again.
That ROCKS.

I totally agree, wonderfully said nopoop. The ride has just begun, and it can only get better from here. So kick back, and enjoy yourselves. :D

While I know exactly what you are talking about (been here since beta 1), I am afraid that this will fall on deaf ears.
Heheh, been so long since we have had the new versions every 3-6 months, I think many vets will be a little rusty with the "update attitude" for a version or two.

Damn...
nopoop, do not tell em this, I like the *****ing and flaming wars on the BBS.
:D :D :D

Regrettably, the gameplay is the same old same old, just as I predicted. But at least some key elements of the arcade gaminess have been declawed. That for me represents a major change. :aok

Very, very true nopoop! One thing I really have missed is the excitement of logging onto AH1 and seeing the 'your version is out of date', which seemed to happen every two or three weeks. There's definitely been so many updates since 1999, some involving major changes bigger than what AH2 has imo.

"You so total rock dude!"
Right on the money nopoop.

When AH went public beta there were only 4 or 5 planes and one arena. We still played the crap out of it, and it was more fun than Warbirds 2.7 (or whatever it was at then) which had almost 40 planes to choose from. It was more fun largely because it was more challenging to fly and harder shoot. There's no way in hell I'd want to go back to AH1 now, this new version is improved in every way.
Wait another month, we'll all be asking when the new planes come out in version 2.10:)

There will be no voice of reason, it screws up my monday mornings, now what will I do? I look forward to reading the complaining, the threats of quitting, the "How Comes?", the very essence of true dweeb attitude, my day has been ruined, I no longer have the satisfaction of reading the board and saying to myself, "jeez, I thought I was a whiney, complaining, jerk til I read this ", now I just have, " thank Jod I'm not as bad off as these guys, even if I need to lie to myself"
Positive mental attitude= the ability to swallow your own BS
:)
