Title: Initialization failed
Post by: anton on June 28, 2004, 09:05:36 PM
Still no luck getting passed "initialization Failed with -3 mainGR3D_FAILED-4" message after I set vid card resolution on entry. Been workin w/ skuzzy but I know hes a stretched commodity at this time-

Skuzzy suggested I update soundcard driver but whenever I try my puter locks hard. I had no problem updating Vid card drivers so this really stumps me. (keep in mind I dont know much at all about puters). I'm just looking for options while I wait for skuzzy to return my last virage of E-mail:aok .

Anton,

The very fact that your computer locks hard when trying to change sound card drivers tell you where your problem is.

Tried uninstalling all the drivers, then physically remove the card itself?

I had a similar problem with a video driver a while back. Eventually ended up doing a reformat of my c: drive to lick it.

Hang in there

Anton, the inability to install a driver is a pretty serious problem.  When that happens, the normal course of action is to wipe out the system and start from fresh.
Windows is a bit flaky that way.  It mostly stems from the fact that Windows will merrily install all manner of drivers, but will simply never remove them.

Well, heres the latest-

I've decided to replce my tower completely, I am looking for suggestions for a system that will play AH2 with no problem, somthing in the upper middle class range pulling frame rates never under 30-  :D
