Off here...too distracting and too much warning offered to unsuspecting prey. :)
-
ON...
I want them to see me killing em:rofl
-
Off for same reasons
Charon
-
Definately tracers OFF with the airplanes.
Definately ON with vehicles
-
I had to turn them off to hit anything. :)
-
off- I likey to hear them whine about getting shot down. hehehe
-
i like em off for normal combat.
but i like to turn them back on if i am filming as it looks better! :)
does anyone know if the film viewer has been improved ie: engine sounds and guns from own aircraft etc?
-
on... i cant see no advantage in AH2 for them to be off..
first off you will almost not kill a plane in 1 pass unless the pilot is afk..also you need to be closer in ah2 so he will hear you if he has his setting set to pilot advantage..
tracers off only for ack....

ON
-
I like the pretty smoke.....ON
-
I watched the pretty smoketrail pixels for about 5 mins.
Then off.
-
I had them on, turned them off, and on Saturday I had the worst shooting night of my life.
So they'll be back on come friday lol.
Seriously, it was some of the best flying I've done in AH2, but after a few hours I had 2 kills, 3 deaths and a ****load of assists.

If you've never flown with tracers off before, you really need to give yourself a couple of weeks to a whole tour to adjust to not using them. You'll find that your aim likely improves a couple of percentage points above what it was before you turned off the tracers if you stick to it.

I flew AHI with the tracers off, but turned them on in AHII. I'll probably keep them on for a tour until I get 100% used to the Icon ranges.

Do what I did instead. The second night after AH2 went live, I found that I was missing shots I expected to hit. So I went offline, turned tracers on, and flew against the drones for a couple of minutes doing different crossing shots, lead shots, etc. I watched where the tracers went and in what ways I was missing. Then I went and adjusted the convergence and made some minor adjustments to how I was aiming and tried it again some more until I had a "feel" for it. That took maybe 10 minutes tops.
I turned tracers back off again and went back to the main arena. I've been tearing things up aim-wise ever since. The key is to figure out what you're doing systematically wrong in the new setup. Once you adjust for it, you're gonna hit stuff whether you turn the tracers on or off.

Off. Don't have the system to run the smoke, shoot better without em anyway.
(although for Osties and ground attack I find them helpful).
-
Off. I still have to count on getting the guy who's trying to figure out what "Check 6" means. :D
-
i use tracers on but it is only becuz i use a Bore sight on all my planes witch gives me a clear view of what i am shooting at. When I was using the in game gun sights they block my view of my shots and with tracers on with game sight I really cant see what i am shooting at. So tracers on with my new single dot bore sight and i can see great. get sight Here (http://mywebpages.comcast.net/udlike2no2/Files/)

The only problem I see with tracers is this - you tend to move your nose while shooting. Back in AW there was excellent advice - point to where the plane is going to go and burst a stream and let him fly through it. If you miscalculate, dont wiggle your nose, just quit shooting and try to line up again. Initially you'll probably miss a lot, but in the end, your aim will be dead on. In AH2 it seems this style of shooting will be very important, as any nose wiggle seems to make you miss. Ill try it after I get to play again :(
(throws a dead chicken at patch5) :D
Hmmm - maybe I'll work on that offline while THEY FIX THE PATCH.
Throwing spears instead of shooting a garden hose.

Always been off. Turned them on for a couple flights to see how they looked in AH2. They looked cool but I couldn't hit squat. Turned them back off. Doing ok now.
-
Hum just was wondering If your tracers are off does it turn off the tracers coming from other planes also? Or is it just show off on your plane? Has anyone noticed?
-
nope.. other planes still shoot at u with tracers if they have it on..
they just dont see yours when your shooting at them:lol

Enemy and other friendly plane tracers are still on if you turn yours off.
-
ON: Only use for me is sometimes it will scare a plane off someones six when their too far out to kill.
-
On - I like the way they look
-
On at the moment.
Once I'm used to the difference in Icons I will most likely revert to turning them off. (I very rarely had them on, in AHI)

Off. Hate them but dont want to do it alone and give the other guy an advantage.

off... I shoot better
