ROTFLOL, I had a friend actually buy his wife a Glock 9mm...he really believed that she would like it. They were divorced a year later. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

An honest meant question... Not a flame or anything like that:
Why buy a Voodoo, when you can get a Gforce 2 for about the same money. In my Country Gforce 2 is cheaper than the Voodoo. Is there anything about it I dont know? Do Voodoo actually perform better than Gforce 2 in AH?

It's just a matter of personal taste. After using Voodoo's FSAA, I can't imagine giving it up. What I've seen of NVidia's implimentation of it just doesn't live up to 3DFX's. What you lose with the V5 with FSAA on is frame rate, but with 2x FSAA, it's definitely adequate. After finding this price drop I ordered one for the second computer I'm building for my new computer room (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Hey SOB since the price is so low and you seem to be in the mood.....why not order another one and send it to me. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Image quality.
The Voodoo 5 5500 has a superior image quality and a better FSAA implementation than the GeForce 2 does. Also, be sure you don't mean the GeForce 2 MX, it is a "stipped down" slower version of the GF2 that doesn't really compete with the V5 and the full-on GF2.

Thnx for not flaming me guys (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Lepthurn I meant the real GeForce2
Here are the prices as they are in Denmark right now:
AGP-V7700 GeForce2 GTS Pure Retail AGP / 32MB / 2048x1536 / GeForce2 GTS 2.089 kr. (238$)
Voodoo5 5500 Retail AGP / 64MB / 2048x2048 / Voodoo5 2.370 kr. (270$)
So I would need a reason to choose the Voodoo 5 instead of the Geforce2. If I wasnt an ASUS fan I could find Geforce2 even cheaper.

Voodoo5 is Doodoo compared to Geforce. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Nice try Hblair. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) Ok, I'll help kick it up a notch. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Current prices:
V5 5500 AGP 64 Meg: $269.99
Elsa Gladiac GeForce 2 GTS 64 Meg: $389.99
Elsa Gladiac GeForce GTS 32 Meg: $276.99
The 32 Meg GTS is pretty much at parity. If I looked harder I could likely find cheaper prices for both. The price on the V5 was recently dropped $50.00 US.
The reason to get the V5 over the full-on GF2 is image quality. It's image quality is better on the V5 quite simply. It is not faster, but looks better. If you play flying and driving sims, 3DFX's Full Scene Anti-Aliasing is hands-down better than the nVidia version. When you start looking at framerates at 1024x768 32 bit color with 2xFSAA the Voodoo 5 is very close to the GF2, and looks a heck of a lot better.
Once you have seen FSAA you can never go back. It eliminates the jaggies, crawlies, and flashies that you normally have to put up with in a game. I find FSAA particularly usefull in flight sims like AH where you are looking at the dead 6 view of a plane that is very narrow.
I would pay the extra for the Voodoo 5 for the games I play. Sure, a GF2 would be "faster", but I get 30-50 fps in AH at 1024x768 32 bit and 2xFSAA. It's plenty playable and looks better than the GF2 equivalent, especially in AH. That's my reason. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
BTW, I don't care who makes the card, the first card that will do 1024x768 32 bit and 4xFSAA (real jittered 4x not that hack nVidia uses) will get my money. I won't buy another card until then, because that's the next step IMHO.
