wicked drool!! I'm dying to try this baby out!! Fantastic work HTC <S>
Questions? Ok, ok , ok. Will there be a water line effect or bow wave/wake graphics? Will the PT boat "bank" in a turns? How may gunners? do you have to come to a stop to toss the beast into reverse?
(in other words: possible fatal aniticipation is setting in and details on the PT boat and it's operation are in dire need here!! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) )

Awesome.
Someone has GOT to organize the first 20v20 PT boat last man floating Death Match.
Muuahahaha (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Very cool, gonna add a whole new dimension to the game.

Gotta change my handle to McHale.
-
My only Question is,,
Will it have the two differant sounds it's gonna need.
Muffled, (limited to around 30 knts)
and
Unmuffled, (can you say 45knts???)
with a resultant 10 ft high rooster tail and wake????
complete with working cavitation (? dunno if thats the term I'm looking for here.) plates???
Will the big boys, (destroyers, CV's and the Cruisers actually throw FLAK bursts in the air (ala all the painted scenes of midway etc?)
Will we get the "outside" view as we're motoring to our gloriously hideous deaths making that suicide run at the DD's to clear a path for the rest of the squadron to nail the Cruisers and the CV???????
Inquiring minds want to know....

geez... I have problem to realize it's AH, I'm still thinking I'm previewing an another game (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Anyone else thinking that attacking those things would be like 20x harder than the Ostwind...?
And how in hell is anyone going to attack the larger ships, if their full AAA capabilities are modelled???

Hopefully, it will be impossible for any one plane to succefully attack the capital ships. This as it should be, will hopefully require an organized assult rather than scattered buffs and the occasional JaBo randomly flying from various fields with no real coordination.
This is where that map planner will really get some use. (Hopefully)

AAA overall on this game is absurd. 1 AC _can_ (ive never succeeded due to upping enemies) kill all acks on LARGE field, which i would thik to be impossible in RL conditions.
AAA needs dispersion on bullets and dispersion on aiming. Then they´d cover a LOT more airspace when shooting, than they are now. Multiple AAA:s in RL are designed to shoot so much metal in the air, that you surely get hit, if you go too deep in their effective shooting range.

Wow! nice (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Wheres the bar deck on that puppy?

Hate to point this out guys. But has anyone else noticed that the boat is lacking FOUR TORPEDOS? Anyhoo, the pics still look awesome, great job HTC.
-
Says ALLMSOT Completed .. and the racks are there so i guess the shapes of the Torps are just missing yet (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
Tuomio..
Well 1 A/C can do it . but ever tried a low pass over a AH field ? you'll get cut to shreds in seconds ..
-
Wow.
I just can't wait to strafe one of those things.
-
Straffe one? Hee heee hee. Better stay below radar and icon rendering altitude if you desire any success. That thing looks like it can defend itself ten times over. That great big ole honking ICON you plane carries around with it will give the saly sailors one big ole early warning and allow them to be prepared.

The torps aint missing! he djust fired those at the CV an couple of yards ahead (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

As for attacking the Capital ships. A lone Level bomber is going to have a very hard time. A lone Dive Bomber (SBD, VAL,P-38J/L) should have good success if they come in High, If they follow the 70 Degree dive angle, and remember to use the Dive brakes lol. Torpedo Planes may also have good luck if they are truly skimming the water. would be great to come in at say 10 feet and oops clipped by a Rouge wave, game over man. Any mid altitude attacks are going to be in deep doo doo.

Pyro posted the news about the PT boat a week ago.
PT boat armament:
- Four .50 caliber machineguns (two mountings of two machineguns...those 50gallone drum looking things beside the pilothouse).
- A 20mm cannon (mounted near the front of the pilot house)
- A 37mm cannon (the big gun up front)
- A 40mm cannon (the big gun on the backend)
- Four torpedos (not shown, but you can see their mounting brackets along the sides).
- 16 rockets (you can see two rocketpods of 8 rocket tubes each beside the boathouse)
Hans.
-
Hmm.. thats one greatly overmodelled fishing boat.
got to be careful in the seas now.
-
What are the rockets for?
Will it be like in ww2 where rocket boats fired them at fortified fround?
-
In real life the rockets were used for killing the enemy. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
I would think you could use them to take out gun emplacements on the beachs your Amtracks plan to go ashore at.
By the way, you did see the "other" player controlled water vehicle mentioned, right?
The LVT "Amtrack" amphibious tractor. The troop delivery vehicle of the navy.

Well, any rocket-toting a/c should be able to make short work of those PT boats, if it gets a shot in. Beaufighter pilots used to see their solid AP rockets coming out the opposite side of freighters they shot up, after it went through whatever cargo was inside. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
-
Hmm, sounds a bit unlikely Juzz. But we still need the Beaufighter (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
