Looks fine. No problems. Studders seem to be almost gone. Well, at least I haven't noticed any disturbing.

Waffle, Wildcard, did this happen after you minimized the game or changed max texture resolution or did it just start off that way? If you change your max texture size from the video settings menu on the start screen, does it still come up with the transparencies?
-
Good job, All studders are gone for me. Alt-tab now works. The E6B dosen't cause the game to studder no more while it is opened.

oops - knew I forgot something. I didn't change video to default. was running with 1024 textures.
Anyway FWIW - vid mem never crept up too high -
think the highest I saw was 101 outta 127avail. and it would alway drop abit when things cleared down to thr 70s-80s
will check with defaults
-
I seem to get more studders now and planes warping more often especially through the ostie view, cant seem to track any planes steadily.
default max texture is 512 played for 2 hours, flew around to load as much as possible, going to try and lower it to 256 and see what happens.
framerates seem to be steadier mine stay at 59 in a decent furball.

Works great for me, 2 hrs with no problems.

Seems fine - no ctds / no blank text boxes - went back to 1204 textures. no problems. Still some stutters, but i think that has to do with re"seeing" the textures / skins.
Out for the weekend - Hope all have a good 4th!
Edit - spoke too soon - when I "windows" out to type this in went back in, was missing clipboard again, some frames on inst panel.(trim, ammo counter box, ect... and gunsight frame. This was in 1024 textures.

stuttering gone.. better frames.
-
Sadly no change in FR situation. Stutters and freezes actually worse to the point of being next to unplayable
Will try again tomorrow as I was hearing people complaining about game running"slow" tonight.

Seems fine. Never really had a problem with stutters, and FR has been great.

Everything was fine untill I hopped in a panzer. The turret view was blanked out light gray. I could still fire etc., just couldn't see where the shots were going. I got the same thing in an M8. I didn't change any settings after I started the test version.
I never really have had too many problems with AH2 since it came out of beta, just a few CTD's at inopportune moments and stutters down low when fighting.

Instrument panel was all white blocks.
Settings were at default (512)
minimzed and when I went back the whole plane exept noseart and white blocked instrument panel was invisible.
redid test at 256, everything seemed normal as far as art work. FPS were more stable. Stuttering settled down to practically nonexitent after about 20minutes. Saw a few warps in a furball and FPS would drop to high teens.
At 128 saw much improvement, and it's very playable at this setting with sliders set to peformance and res at 1024 x 768)

test was smooth, no problems. But cut my fps in half. 16 - 20 in tower, same on runway. Came up to mid 30's in flight.
Uninstalled all versions of ah & ah2, downloaded fresh ah2, installed.
Copied sights, settings over.
256 textures instead of 512 default with test. All other settings identical.
34 - 38 in tower, same on runway.
Soon as I'm 2k above ground I'm hitting 60's (would be higher but I locked it at 60)
Fly's smooth & clean with minor jumps as long range plane dots change distance/position.

I was also having a problem with aileron sliding all the way to the left.
Will keep trying.

Tried the test patch online and off. Hope you don't decide to keep whatever the hell you done :)
Freezes every time I fire, someone fires at me, if I even get close to another plane. Even the offline drones would freeze me up even if I didn't fire my guns.
Should I be using the new drivers for this? Or are the ones I have OK?

Are you using Zone Alarm? Might need to give the test exe permission to access the internet.
If that's not it, then nevermind.

Curious. Just how tight IS a frogs butt?

2nd report.
well I thought it might get better as time wnet along due to loading textures, etc. This is not the case so far.
The sttuters have gotten increasingly worse and now the FRs are flucuating a great deal (this is a new twist. My FRs have been pretty solid up until now).
On two entrys everything loaded OK until I put the palne on the runway. I was then getting a cockpit instrument panel with the instruments being white blocks, then immediately I got the ole Host Connection lost.

I still get the vid memory build up( I know Im supposed to get it) but, what happenes is I enter the game at 40 or so and it climbs to 80+ then I get CTD with most any map function like Tower, joystick settings, and so on. I have to relog into the game every 1 1/2 to 2 hrs to prevent this problem..Alt/tab dosent cure the CTD This happens to many members in my squad..

Started with default setting, 256 text. mip off, sliders 75% towards perf. Frps. increased to around 30 - 45, offline. So I tried upping texture, and lost frame rate increas, but game was playable with a steady 15-25 fps.
Went back to original settings and noticed I can put mip on with no change and even moved ground detail to midway point. I gues i'm saying it's the same , but more solid fps, less up and down on the fps.
I'll try online tomorrow, but I see there's a new patch, so online results will be with patch included.
so far so good.

I put my initial report in a separate posting. The test patch DID NOT help my performance, but did have an effect.
IT IS WORSE!!! NOT GOODER!!! LESS BETTER!!!
The stutters are more frequent, and come at the worst possible time (when I am closely engaged with a plane). They are making the game unplayable now, whereas it was merely difficult two days ago.
I am playing with everything at default, which is (on my system)
Detail level ~50% toward performance
Displayed object size ~75% toward performance
Ground detail range ~65% toward .5 mile
1024 X 768, max texture size 256
Horizon, transitions, and terrain mipmapping all unchecked.
Since upload of the patch today, I was on for about half an hour, and left in disgust when the third plane I saddled up on simply went 'somewhere else' while I watched stutter after stutter after stutter for about 10 seconds. My weakest system link is far and away above the published "minimum configuration" to play. Here's the Dxdiag:
