Marlon Brando, one of the most influential actors of his generation, has died, according to media reports on Friday citing his lawyer. He was 80.
A family friend told Fox News that Brando died on Thursday night at 6:20 p.m. (2220 GMT) in a Los Angeles-area hospital after being taken there on Wednesday. The cause of death was not immediately known.

He's been in the news lately as being totally broke with huge debts.
Wonder if that was the cause.

One of the best actors of all time. Especially his early films.
-
Favorite Line of all time:
"We train young men to drop fire on people, But there commanders won't let them write F--- on there airplanes because it is obscene."
Not only of his generation but one of the most influential actors in the history of motion pictures.

a giant.

" The horror, the horror...I watched a snail crawling down a razor blade..."
Great actor and an icon of a generation and a truly complex human being.

Most overrated actor ever.

Brando was awsome.

The funny thing is rpm, Marlon Brando would almost certainly have agreed with your statement.

True KB. Brando was a good actor, just not great. He got a lot of hype in the 60's with his style of acting before it became commonplace. The best (and probably the most overlooked) role I remember him in was "The Freshman" where he played a parody of his "Godfather" character.
-
He was great...I named my son after him.

More misses than hits, but when he hit he was the best imo...
His Marc Anthony in Julius Caesar was awesome. He was easily the equal of James Mason, and Sir John Gielgud....

Have to agree that "The Freshman" was one of his best and a good movie too.

That would make him a pioneer, no? I don't know much about him really, nor do I care to. But seeming where he has passed on, may he rest in peace.
