Post by: XtrmeJ on July 03, 2004, 07:41:51 PM
Are there any recommended brands of monitors I should look into? Looking to order one today as I have just blown my main and now using a backup. Any info would be appreciated. :D

Here's a great monitor for gamers ( check the specs )  that is priced competively.

Samsung SnycMaster 1100df (http://www.samsung.com/Products/Monitor/FlatCDT/Monitor_FlatCDT_1100DF.htm)

I'm very happy with this monitor.

Personally went with the Iiyama Vision Master Pro 514.  Your eyes will thank you (plus,  AH looks great at 1600x1200).

Check out the Samsung 213T.  It's an awesome 21" monitor, and it's priced around $1100.  I almost bought one recently, then my car busted.  Soon...

I have one in my office, and it's great.

I got a nice IBM G70 monitor from work...it's great even when others were whining about the nightfall in AH1...

I bought a Samsung 955DF 19inch CRT a few years ago. It was less than $400 at the time after rebates. I'd bet its less now with out having to mess with any rebate bs. Games have always looked real good on it.

Lookin for around 22 Inch monitor. I run 200 and sometimes even 500 FR, need something to take the beating. Vsync turned on keeps it down, but still very high.

Try out TFTs too. Samsung 172X is pretty good. Also some 19" models run fast enough, only when manning gun positions it blurs a little.

Saves space and power tremendously.

If going for TFT , wait a bit , some cool models coming out next autumn.

XJ those iayma (spelling???) are hard to find, but duyammm do they have the capabilities.

i looked into the specs and saw like 2048x1024 at 120hz was supported, almost nothing else could handel that refresh rate.

they are european, and hard to find a US model (with american power conversions).

if only i had the money LOL a 19 was abuot $500-$600

The 514 Pro is a 22" model, and I got it for about $500.  Just go to pricewatch and look for it.

I bought a sylvania 17" F70 about 5 years ago for $200.00 and have never turned it off ever.  I play on it every day.
