Title: Il-2 FB Clumsy Closings
Post by: Halo on July 04, 2004, 12:53:28 PM
Is anyone else experiencing clumsy lockup closings exiting IL-2 Forgotten Battles Expansion Pack?  I enjoy the game but it doesn't seem to want to get off my computer once I finish with it.

Getting tired of rebooting after every session.  Have no such problems with any other programs, so I'm wondering if this is a game characteristic or if there is some closing technique I'm missing.

None here either.  Are you using the 2.01 update or by chance the "leaked" 2.02?

Used to have clumsy closing in FB. I had to re-install all my software from scratch when I bought a new PC. i updated with the new drivers for my sound and video card.

No more problems. Everything is perfect.

FB/AEP plays great for me in perfect mode, I get great fps and its much smoother then AH2.

I installed AEP over a clean install of FB though.

I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and seems to work fine now.  Apparently one of the two update patches I downloaded screwed it up.  Or I screwed up the process somehow.

Anyway, nothing like a purge.  Will not mess with the online updates, at least until I reexamine them closely and get daring again.

During installation the game is a little funny about telling you to install disk 2, then complain it needs disk 1, then reject that and demand 2 again.

Come to think of it, in previous installation, after I installed disks 1 through 3 (IL-2, Forgotten Battles, Expansion Pack), the game used to want disk 2 before it would play; now it wants disk 3.

Oh well.  Will enjoy it as it works now.
